Can someone recommend a good camcorder

I'm looking to buy a good camcorder (preferably under $300 or $400) to shoot videos for my website and to use for live cam shows. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I recommend looking at Cam comparison sites and check the user ratings.

For digital cameras I use: http://dpreview.com/ There must be an equiovelent for camcorders.

I can say DON'T buy a JVC. I bought a nice HD 40GB JVC cam only to find out that JVC have a native .MOD suffix for the movies they create.

I still haven't found a conversion app that accepts .MOD files! Instead I have to manually re-label .avi so I can manage them.

Very good quality used camcorders, I’ll go for Sony or Panasonic (just what I like – not that aren’t others manufacturers as same as good)
