Need hosting advice

Hello.

Well... as predicted, my adult host is showing signs of a "fly by night" company. Their advertisement claimed "Unlimited webspace and unlimited bandwidth". This should have thrown up a red flag if I had known better. In reality, the webspace is 100MB and I don't know the monthly bandwidth.

This seemed like such a steal at $9.99/year. Now I am starting to learn more and seeing that my host is pretty crappy: www.ladydstardust.co.uk For one, it is a United Kingdom host and I live in the US. Two, they lied in their own ad about the webspace and bandwidth. I want to cancel this host and get a new one, even if it costs more.

My reason for writing this is that I have a couple options. I have a solid domain on www.godaddy.com and wish to have a very reliable host as well. The control panel on my current host is full of broken links and is next to impossible to find files on.

The hosting company that I am drooling over is www.nakedhosting.com At around $10/month, they offer a virtual/shared hosting package with 100GB webspace and 1000GB bandwidth. This is affordable for me and they are guaranteed to accept adult content. I wish to transfer my files to this host (or one that is comparable) as soon as possible.

Do you guys have any suggestions for reliable hosting plans besides Naked Hosting for a newbie like me? I want to build a blog or two and some galleries galore without resorting to free hosting.

ATCI or Godaddy depending on if you want service or bandwith.

I have a domain through GoDaddy and need a more reliable host. Naked Hosting got some mediocre reviews on a couple websites. I cannot really find any review information on ATCI although several people on here highly recommend it. At $14.95/month, it will cost me about $180/year to host with ATCI. If I decide to upgrade to a more expensive host, ATCI will probably be my first choice.

As of now, with my limited experience in the adult online industry, one of my most promising candidates is Host Gator. At $9.95/month, this comes out to about $120/year (plus one month for a penny via coupons).

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. My decision for adult hosting is between:

• ATCI for $14.95/month
• Host Gator for $9.95/month

That saying "you get what you pay for" holds true for adult biz as well. If a lot on here use ATCI, it's a pretty good bet there is a reason. I use them and would not go anywhere else.

I had a site last night go dead due to a drive filling up (this can happen on any virtual host) and didn't notice until this morning.

Within 2 mins of hitting up their online chat they were working with me to get the site up and running as quick as possible which we did in about 30 mins. Try that with a different host and you could be waiting days for a reply.

Just want to make you aware that this doesn't happen on every virtual host. We haven't ever had a drive fill on a virtual server in the 7 1/2 years we have been in business. I am also sure there are many other good hosts that haven't had it happen to them as well. This is why servers are monitored.

Not seeing anything in the tickets about drives filling up, but I do see some issues related to LinkEx script patch not being applied.

While I certainly wish that you would take a look at our shared hosting at Assorted Internet but in lieu of that Naked or ATCI should be good choices as well. Since your hosting adult content, pick an adult host, not only will they be familiar with your content and requirements, you will be supporting the industry that you want to support you and you won't have to worry about a non-adult friendly host discovering your content and shutting you down for it.

ATCI quoted me on a hosting plan for $9.95/month with 2GB webspace and 25GB bandwidth. This should be plenty for my needs until I learn how to rake in traffic and sales. Please let me know what you guys think of this plan for a newbie webmaster like me. ATCI is the most recommended host that I have come across on this forum and will most likely be perfect with my Go Daddy domain account.

The hun was the first site I ever made any real money on as a newbie, almost a grand on my first accepted gallery (one gallery in a couple of days). Granted people have made more, and you probably won't make that these days, but a gallery is probably the simpliest thing you can build and post.

I admit if you're hosting with the bandwidth cost of ACTI you certainly shouldn't, but that's an entirely different story

As soon as I get more involved in my web design learning, I will definitely make an effort to get some more reliable hosting with ATCI. I think I can definitely afford to budget for $10/month. Once my galleries start looking better, the money should hopefully come in. Damn, I love porn!
