tracking exit links
Hi
Please help. Can anyone tell me how to track my exit links? I mean , links that goes from one page to another in my site , I can see them in awstats, but I can't figure out how to track links that goes to another site so I don't know how many surfers I send to one site Thanks

there is no way to accurately track where your visitors go after entering your site. You can see them go from one page to another but if they have any script blockers running (like with FF) they won't register properly.
toplist can cheat, and so can scripts. Welcome to the world of the Adult webmaster.

Still, you could be a general idea.
If you are talking about links to sponsors and such, you could use a script like phpAdsNew to run your advertisements. This way, you would know how many times a link was seen, and out of those times, how many times did someone choose to click it (therefore, exit with it) If you are trying to track the traffic you are sending out to other sites, you could use a traffic trading script. Or, you could use Google Analytics to get a much better picture overall of how the traffic flows through your site in general... and they do give you some exit stats, though I'm not sure it tracks what links, just what page surfers leave from.

There are a few hit counter programs that show you stats for your offsite exit links, like Adfreestats. http://www.addfreestats.com/help/exitlinks.html Remember to turn on "Exit link tracking" when you signup.
I believe Sitemeter does as well. The tradeoff with most of these counter programs is that you have to put their button on your page if you use their free options. Clicky also tracks outbound links but I've never used them so I don't know if they have a visible button or not.
