Renewal of domain costs?

From my search I see that everybody has almost the same price but almost nobody posts the price for yearly renewal of domain. From my experience in Poland first year is twice or three times cheaper then renewal cost. Is this normal?

I use godaddy and the renewal with them seems the same as the price I paid to register the first time.

If you're with the right registar, the price should stay fairly the same unless you got a $2 deal to start with.

There is a funny group ICS something something something that keeps sending letter to try and get you to renew your domain for 4 times what it costs so be wary of them.

My yearly never changes unless I decide to go for 2 years up to 10 and then of courset he price gets more inexpensive.
