I'm thinking about selling content

In addition to looking to create a site, I have been interested in selling content to adult sites as well.

I know how to shoot and everything, so there's no problems there. But I do have some quick questions:

Anything legally I should have my actresses sign before or during the shoot?

I know BangBros is looking for content, but can anyone give me several other sites that are open to content being submitted?

Does anyone know how much these sites generally pay for content? Is it in a bulk order of so many videos I have, or do they select which one they like best and pay only for that?

Would it be best to stock up on 2-3 videos and approach a site, or just shoot one such video and approach a site and say 'Hey, I can do more with this girl and I've got this other girl, here's a picture, we can do things, blah, blah, blah'.

Any help at all appreciated.

Hire an attorney for your legal advice because it's clear you aren't ready to produce content.

There are 2257 rules now, someone has to be the official listed holder of your 2257 documents. I know that much just from reading here. I think that is just the beginning now, I'm sure your models have to sign a release, what it has to contain, I don't know.

Don't let it discourage you, just find out the facts and cover your own ass before you start uncovering someone else's.

Appreciate it. But can anyone answer my other questions?

How much do sites generally pay for content?

Also, does anyone know of other sites that are open for content?

First and foremost, I agree with what Hammer had to say. You need to consult an attorney that is familiar with the laws of your area….meaning local laws. You must have a contract and model release (DO NOT USE A GENERIC MODEL RELEASE YOU FOUND ON THE WEB).

You will also need to have contracts for the customers you are going to sell to....such as; one for exclusive sets, semi-exclusive sets or just bulk sale, meaning you will sell multiple sets.
You will also need to set up some sort of billing program, whether it is CCBill or your own visa merchant account or Epassport. This is an additional cost.

When pricing your sets, it's not a matter of what sites are paying, you need to set a budget, figure out how much it costs you for the production of the shoot and charge accordingly. Please keep in mind, you may not get what you want as times are getting harder and things are tight so companies are looking for cheap content.

Now, as to what sites are buying content.
That is something you will have to find on your own. I meet all my contacts at trade shows, on adult forums and it takes time to build relationships, so this will not be a quick process.

Just out of curiosity, what equipment are you using at this time? What type of content are you planning on shooting?

Equipment is not cheap as you probably know. I have thousands tied up in equipment and then you will need to have working capitol for models on top of all this investment.
It seems the investment never stops. I am always looking for a lens or something I need to add to my equipment base. I just picked up a Sony HDZ1U camcorder so we can start shooting HD....another big investment.

I am not trying to discourage you, but getting into the content side of the business is not as easy as it seems, nor is it cheap. It is just like running any business; it takes time, money and commitment.

The bottom line is you will need to consult with an attorney about your business plan/model. This is very important. Ignorance of the law is no excuse to get out of any violations you may be found with during an inspection.

I hope this helps you some. I am sure we will be hearing from Paul Markham real soon.....he loves these topics.
I wish you the best of luck, now go see an attorney.
If you don't have one, here is a very good attorney:

Thanks for the response, Nikki.

As far as what equipment I have, I've got the DVX100A camera with a nothing special UV lense. And a rode NT3 Mic that's excellent at canceling out background noise.

I'll probably upgrade to a nice HD camera once I get the chance.

As far as a budget, I'm thinking around $700-800 at the most. It depends if I need more then one girl. I would probably ask for about $1000-1200 per set from a buyer.

Really appreciate the help guys; I'm sure to have some fun in whatever I choose to go for and hopefully make some bread out of it.
