Is all Negativity Bad Negativity?
I was just wondering, thoretically speaking. If I were to create a really bad website that people complained about.
Then the people that complained linked to my site and increased my backlinks/ Googleness Would this be a bad thing? Or is all publicity good publicity - no matter how bad it is? Or am I wrong to be thinking like this? |

Two questions. Why would they link to it I it was bad? And if it was bad what good would it do to get traffic to it?

There are all kinds of sites that make their entire business mocking bad sites and linking to them.
In fact, often really bad sites are super funny... which gets people talking and linking. It really depends what type of "bad" you are talking about I guess. I think that all publicity can be good in a sense... and yet, if it's really bad, will it actually make you any money? I think you could probably use the right kind of bad site to push traffic elsewhere... |

It's a big diffferent between a bad and a ugly website.
While an ugly website can grow revenue like a rocket, a bad website wont make you a dime. And no, i don't think you will find someone linking to a bad website...buuut, an ugly website...

when it came to bad publicity they used to say as long as they spell my name right ...
i know an author that goes out of his way to make people angry when they read his works because the people that are outraged usually speak louder with their pov traveling faster than from people that enjoyed the work for him it works but i am guessing you'd need a thick skin |

Certainly a bad website would garnish bad revues, word would spread among surfers, people on forums would discuss it, etc. Where would the upside be?

I don't know, I was just wondering if you pissed enough people off and they all complained by posting your link on forums could you theoretically make that website popular(?)
As an (un)popular website, surely you can make money from it. I mean traffic is traffic. No matter where it is from.. Even Chinese or Turkish traffic has some value to someone.. |

I've always thought of buying the domain jesuswasgay and trying to really argue that he was, in fact, gay. I mean, look at all those foot washes and back rubs he gave men!!
I bet I'd make a million bucks overnight. Of course, I'd have to use that money to buy my own Island to get away from everyone wanting to kill me.

I recall somebody having 2 TGPs, one called Jesuslovesporn and the other was jesuslovesgayporn. I don't know if these are still around. Had an animated gif of cartoon Jesus in long robe with supicious twitch in crotch.
I'm sure you can make a serious sounding blog that take the postion that Jesus was gay. What sponsors would one use? Gay porn sponsors or mainstream sponsors if you keep the tone of the post serious? As for your byline, you can caller yourself Peter the Rock.
