Keywords and Descriptions
I'm looking to do some seo for my site and i wondering whats a good amount of keywords to use in the meta. same goes for the description meta. also is it bad to repeat the main theme keywords on different pages on the site. ex.. an anal site could or should i have the keyword anal sex on every page? or should i not repeat keywords?

It's always a good thing to load your whole site with keywords - provided that the keywords you use are relevant to the content/substance of your site.
Follow this thread to learn more about Meta Tags: http://cozycampus.com/theforum/showt...&threadid=6588 I wrote it 4 years ago, but the process remains the same. As for keywords see this thread: http://www.cozycampus.com/theforum/s...threadid=19041 I wrote that 2 years ago, again it still applies. Good luck. |

There are no search engines left that utilize the meta keywords to influence rankings and only a few that look at the description meta and then it's only so that you get a logical description of your link and the keywords have no effect on your ranking.
Add meta tags if you want but they won't help you get better rankings. I add the description meta to most of my sites and sometimes Google and the other SEs use it as the description of my site and other times they don't but I haven't added a keyword meta in years and do just fine on the SEs.

I'm not suggesting meta tags result in discernable SERP advantages nowadays. But the process of creating them remains the same. The description tag is integral to SERP and to their subsequent traffic. Descriptions are compelling, and an easy qualifying mechanism. The reason meta tags have little value, is that webmasters abused them and filled them with crap in order to try to trick yahoo and google into a favorable listing. Relevance and user value are attributes that will result in favorable search engine listings. Tags are a great way to aggregate a large volume of information into useful logical chunks. It's a pity that the system for administrating them in webpages has been squashed. |

Unfortunately that is the nature of the internet. From it's beginning it has been a free for all. Anybody that could dish out the bucks for a PC could instantly become a "webmaster" with no real training other than a desire to make the "big bucks" driving them on. From massive pages of spam text which was one shade different from the background color to whatever it is they do now "webmasters" have tried to get their share of the SE pie. Yahoo when they still actually looked at submissions and were a "directory" came as close as they could to being accurate, now I don't see anyway realistically that they can control the BS short of regulating a online "Business" like they would a brick and mortar outfit. Charging fees to get listed or strict licensing / permits type regulations.

Go with keyword density <10%, keywords in title and H1 tag, make nice meta description,.. and much more!
