Animated banner question

Yet another help me post

I was trying to download the animated banners from my sponsers. When i opend the downloaded file it was just a still pic, most of the time it was blurry.

I tried googling how to before i posted yet another help me but all i got was links to banner making programs.

What is the trick to downloading these animated banners?

You must be downloading them wrong or downloading the wrong files. There is no trick to it.

Some graphics programs convert an animated gif into a still one. Others put the different frames into layers. If you are using Photoshop the frames will be in layers.

It's also possible you are downloading flash banners, and those will look still unless you are looking at them loaded up into a website properly.

What proggy are you using to open the banner.
If you use PS, paintshop, paint, gimp, acdsee or any other graphic program it won't open the animation for you.

For that you need something that can handle gif files, like ImageReady or something like that.
