Newbs 1st site

Hello everyone! Total newb here to this site and this is my first post. Of course it must be a question! I've been lookin at sponsor websites and they all want a website and URL. If one is just starting out, how would one show a website when there is no sponsor ads and content yet? In other words, my question is which one comes first? The sponsor/content or the website?

Also, I'd like to say that I've been navigating this forum for a little over a week or so and everyone here seems to be so helpful and friendly. I'm really happy to finally be on board!

Thanks!
Harry

Most sites are auto approve so you could just enter anything in there if you want.

But if you want to follow the rules, just pick up a domain for a few bucks and use that. Or you can start a thumblogger site and use that URL.

I think you should purchase a domain and use that, but most sites will let you leave this option blank. If not, contact them and let them know the situation, they'll fix it up for you.

Welcome to the Campus.

Do like Monica said and pay the $9 and register a domain.

Ok so I'm lookin at domains and hosting and i'm wondering now, do I have to purchase a hosting plan for each website I have? For example, I was browsing ATCI's site and their basic virtual package is $14.95/month. If I decide to run 3 websites, does that mean $45/month for me? Or is there a way to have multiple sites in one hosting plan?

Thanks all!
Harry

You can have multiple sites on one hosting plan.

What happens is you set up each domain on your host, and each one will have it's own chunk of space on the hard drive.

That's why you can buy different hosting packages, each with more and more hard drive space, and more and more bandwidth (the amount of traffic used by your sites)
