WP comments 404 error

I was testing the comments on my blog, and I get the page not found error when I click on the "comments" at the bottom of my post. I'm not logged in to admin when I do this. I just checked when I was logged in, still get the 404 error.

Does anyone have any ideas?

try resetting your permalinks, if that doesn't work post the code here to look over.

The 404 error says this:
The requested URL /love-horses-volunteer/ was not found on this server.

I changed the permalinks to custom and /%postname%/.


I have another blog and the comments are working on it. It has fewer plugins, though. Can certain plugins create 404 errors?

Did you just change the permalinks when the 404 started.

If so make sure you updated your .htaccess file. When you change your permalinks wordpress will produce a little code at the top of the window. Copy and paste it into your existing .htaccess file or make a new text file, past it in, name it .htaccess and upload it to the root directory.

they can, but i think your issue is with the permalinks.

you can try seeing if its a plugin by deactivate everything and see if it fixes anything, i doubt that's it though.

Hey guys, I got a chance to check (finally) and saw my .htaccess was named x.htaccess, I checked to make sure the file contained the correct text, then I just renamed it and everything works fine.
