Trying out adbrite,,,,,

I just signed up for adbrite for my Bilinda's blog since I now have adult content on there. I see that once you sign up, they say they have put your information in their other site Black flag because of the adult content.

So far I have some ads on there, but I guess it takes a while. In their stats for potential advertisers they have me as having 2 uniques a day! I hope they fix that fast.

Does anyone here have good luck with them, or do they not seem to have much luck?

In the old days AVNAds was running the adult part of AdBrite, know a days it's blacklabelads.com who run it.

I dont think you should use AdBrite on an adult website.

Personly i would not recomment blacklabelads.com and if you chose to use them, then disable there recommendet auto aprove ads, and manuelly select which ads you want displayd on your website, or you will end up doing advertisment for a lot of shady websites.

Stats for your website should show the corect numbers after a coupler days.

Thanks for the link and advice. Well, I'm going to keep the ads up for 2 weeks. If I don't get squat I'll try a different ad program. My Bilinda blog is a very different kind of site, so I don't know what works best on it.

Once thing I'm noticing today is adbrite is slowing down my pages by about 10 seconds to load. I hope it's just a glitch for today, if not they are coming out!

this is great advice, always manually approve your ads so you know what is going to be on YOUR site. You do not want crappy or spammy ads.

Well just to let you all know, they seem to have gotten that glitch fixed that was slowing down the page. So far I am getting as many clicks per day as I was with google adsense, and getting more per click!

I don't know if that will change down the road or not. I have it on auto approve, and I should get rid of some that are on there. But so far I am happy with it.

I don't see how it's hurting any signups to your sponsors, text ads don't take up that much space. I'm putting it on my other sites too, so it will be even more clicks.

So all in all I'm happy with it, at least so far. I'll let you know if things change the longer you have it, which often is the case.

I tried Black Label ads on a blog site that we were developing. I think there's a lot to be said for what another poster mentioned about "shady" websites often being their advertisers. I pulled them off the site after a couple of months, because I didn't think the credibility, or lack of it, for a fair number of their advertisers was presenting our site in the best light... sort of a guilt by association thing.
