search engines and automatic submissions

First of all ,hallo to everybody!
This is my first post becouse until now I've been tryed to do my homework and i read a lot about all kind of stuff about building a site and building traffic and choosing sponsors but I can't find a thing, and now I'm geting on topic, and that thing is : There are a lot of automatic submission tools. Do you think that useing them it will be bad for search engines ranking? I mean , if I'll submit my site to hundreds of directories or to linklist it will damage my rankings or it will boost up my rankings? Or if I'll submit an article to hundreds of places at once it will be good or bad for my rankings? Or may be these tools are just not doing what they claime?

Please excuse my bad english and thanks a lot for your ansewers and for sharing your knowledge!

Using submission tools for galleries or freesites should have no affect on your rankings either good or bad.

It won't make a difference to search engines, what method you submit your stuff to sites with. Although it may to some of the sites you wish to submit to.

What matters to SE's is the substance of what you produce and the places where you publish it. The sites you submit to, must be relevant to what you produce.

Should I understand that a SE will grant more a link coming to my site(porn related) from a porn site than a link coming to my site from an,let's say, estates site?

Thanks

Yes, because a link to a porn site from a real estate site would not be relevant.

Also, links from quality porn sites with high PRs will help you more than links from poor quality sites or pages, like TGP galleries.

The problem with total automatic submission is if the site changes anything on the submit form the submission software will not know, the submission may fail or worse submit the wrong information. For sites you really like traffic from use semi automated system and check the fields before submitting

Submission software can be useful in certain circumstances and if it's a good program. Would recommend one but not sure which ones would be good for adult (I'm sure we have our own killer submission apps). A few things to consider though.

If it's a site that you really want your site on or that you'll think will drive a lot of traffic to you then submit by hand.

Be sure that any sites you submit to allow automatic submission. There are webmasters out there ithat hate it when somebody uses them to submit to a direc tory.

Be absolutely positive that any site you do submit to will match with your site. If you have a teen site don't submit it to a tranny directory etc..

With those two things in mind any submission software you do use be sure that you can choose which sites you submit to and which you don't.

I can't argue with anything anyone said here except to add one thing.

If you think you're going to compete in this business by doing submission and you're going to do it by hand, please give me the address of your drug dealer (mine's in the joint).

That is not to say there are not quality sites you should submit to by hand but don't discount the sites that at this moment in time aren't considered "high" quality (that would be shooting yourself in the foot right).

Here are the reasons.

1) You won't even be aware of the new sites popping up.
2) I can submit to 500 "low quality" sites that will get me sign ups in 20 minutes. You have a good time doing that by hand.

One thing to keep in mind though. There is a huge difference between buying a program/submitter and paying a price for a company that has a submitter and an entire organization that is on the ball with updates and etc.

That's it, now I am getting drunk

Thanks a lot for your answers!
Now is not the moment to say that is my good site, I want it to be but I'm a newbie and with my "special skills in webmastering" I could in any moment to mess up things so until I will have knowledge base it will be a site for probation, I will learn on it and in the same time I will strugle not to blow-up my work, I will try to do it right.

I sure understand that I should not disconsider any source of traffic that have a conection with my niche(I think "targeted" is the right word) and in the same time I have to sort that sources aftre the quality of their traffic.

Thanks!
