How often to update a porn blog

I apologise if this has been asked before; I searched and didn't see anything immediately obvious.

I got into porn blogging about six months ago, after seeing something that Hammer had posted (either here or on another board) suggesting that every time you build a gallery you do a blog post about it. I was really impressed by how much better the conversions are than with TGP traffic. I started blogging about FHGs and was amazed to find that they could actually convert if promoted that way.

Prior to getting into porn, I was in mainstream Web development for the better part of a decade. Having read tons of information on mainstream blogging, I've been hesitant to update my porn blogs more often than once every other day. There was a big survey of (mainstream) blog users last year that indicated that updating too frequently was one of the two main reasons that people will unsubscribe from an RSS feed.

So the other day I saw a post on here where someone was asking how many times per day someone else updated their blog. Do multiple posts per day lead to more conversions? I guess it makes sense, since the blog would theoretically be getting higher exposure, but I don't want to annoy people subscribing to my RSS feeds to the point where they unsubscribe. Or does that logic even apply to porn surfers?

Also I am really concerned that if I update a blog more frequently than every other day that it will very quickly turn into a massive collection of free porn that surfers will satiate themselves with before they ever hit a join page. Or is this not as much of a problem as I'm imagining, for some reason?

Updating blogs is important for two reasons, to push your listings on a search engine higher, and to convince your surfers to return to your site again and again.

Surfers won't revisit a blog if it isn't updated often enough. They get tired of waiting for a hot new update. I wouldn't suggest updating multiple times per day unless you can keep it really interesting for the surfers, but updating a minimum of once every two or three days is probably good.

Then there are the search engines. They LOVE text. When you add more text to your site, it's good. Daily updates are pretty darn good if you want to improve your rankings in the search engines.

I don't think I'd spend any time worrying about giving the surfers too much free porn. Just be selective about the galleries you are linking too. Make sure they aren't giving away too much of the action.

You should be updating every week or so, but if you add some RSS Feeds from sponsors then it should be updating atleast daily, maybe even a few times a day.
