Anyone here ever upload vids to YouPorn? If so, what are the basic rules and requirements? Can I link back to my main sites for traffic? Should I? Or should I link straight to affiliates?

Is this even worth bothering with trying out at all?

I just made it official too and tried an upload for the fuck of it. I'm very impatient. That's pretty much the way I do everything. If I get results I'll do it again. If not, asta la vista!

I don't think you get to upload movies anymore to youporn unless you are "approved" as an amateur.

I quit submit to that site appx. 7 months ago for the same reason.

I really don't get this thing about people being theives or how tube sites are going to bring down the industry. Isn't there a rock bottom somewhere and haven't we already dug way deeper than that in general as a whole (so to speak)?

I saw someone (I think it was Mark from 2much) talking about YouTube uploads on another board. He had uploaded a funny video of some of his models on YouTube with his URL watermarked on it. Said he got a huge spike in type-in traffic.

Personally, I think that torrents and rapidshare represent a much greater threat than tube sites. Tube sites don't provide entire site rips or even high def video, meaning that the tube site surfer still has a reason to join a paysite even after using the tube site.

I was talking with another idiot webmaster the other day because I found a 20 minute clip up on one of these sites.

It had 100K views.

He was very proud of the fact 1. he got his clip uploaded, and 2. he had so many views

what you fail to realize is
1. those 100K viewers are not looking to buy your content and/or memberships. They have already found a place to see it for free.

2. you are perpetuating a business model which is illegal. And the more webmasters like yourself accept this as the *status quo* the worse it will get.

Try being an ethical webmaster and stay the fuck away from companies and/or Webmasters who use illegal tube sites as an avenue to capture shitty free traffic.

It's funny whenever webmasters (or anyone else) start throwing stones and you peek a little into their closet, there's always something you can find that they are doing they think is completely ethical, but other people think are wrong.

I have a few basic rules in life.

Don't hurt kids.
Don't betray your friends or associates.
Don't listen to people with conflicting agendas.

I might add in "don't rip people off", but since I'm already accused of it, and the people always preaching against it are usually the people doing it worse than anyone else and think you're going cut into their pie, I'm not going to just say "damn the torpedoes".

Im not throwing stones, punk, Im telling you some hard cold facts about REALITY of this Industry. When you shut your mouth and listen, maybe you will have a longer time in this place, or better yet, make some better money.

When you tell someone what to do, offer an alternative. If you don't have an alternative, explain why what that person is doing is so bad (I don't give a shit about elderly webmasters who can't keep up).

Not to take sides here, as I've offered my opinion on tube sites before. But suing someone isn't just like pushing a button. If you don't have lawyers on the payroll it's extremely expensive and you probably won't get any money out of these people. That's if they are American based, and most aren't which means you can't do anything.

many of these sites are in foreign countries...impossible to sue.

The best a single webmaster can do is hope they know the person who owns the site and ask them to take the content down, or..

Or you can have your lawyer send them a C&D, which is basically an expensive way to ask them a bit stricter to take it down.

The lawyer expense is just another part of doing business in this new Internet where *certain* webmasters feel doing business with these illegal companies is acceptable...

Nothing you've said has convinced me in the least that this hurts other webmasters. I think you're a sorry bitch and now I'm going to look into tube sites more than I was ever going to.

I just wanted to know if they were worth anything but now it's going to be my goal. Congratulate yourself on converting another webmaster against what you intended to do with your powers of persuasion.
