Whats a linkback url?

Hi folks..
Can someone explain what a "linkback url" is?

I have made a very basic TGP page, is it on there already?

A "linkback URL" = a reciprocal link.

For example, when you submit a gallery to a TGP, that TGP require that you post a link>back to their page on your gallery. The same goes for when you submit a free site to a top list. Also, when you submit your blog to some blog search engines, those search engines request that you linkback to them.

It looks to me link you have your reciprocal links all done correctly. Three is the max limit for recip links. If you want to submit your gallery to other TGPs, you'll probaly have to build additional page(s) @ three recips each.

one other thing.

I was looking at http://www.tommys-bookmarks.com/submit/ and they ask for the link back url...

do I just put in the url that the linkback is pointing to?

ie in the case of http://www.tommys-bookmarks.com

it would be http://www.tommys-bookmarks.com

What he wants to know is which page on your site has the link to his page. In this case, that would be the URL of your gallery page.

Not to confuse you even more, Steve, but you might need a partner account for Tommy's Bookmarks (as well as a handful of other useful tgp's) and The Hun usually wants clean galleries with no recips whatsoever (maybe just his own is good - not sure). He actually wrote me back an email once that he'd rather see me put up another affiliate link than links for other tgp's (or rather probably one of his crew did).

That's a good set up for a basic gallery though except I'd put my recips on the top and otherwise do it just the way you did (for now) for most of the others.

Everyone has said to make several copies of the same TGP with different variations of the recip links.

do I save them to different folders with slightly different names?

do the names have to have meaning? oor can they be teen01, teen02, etc?

you can pretty much name galleries however you want (at least I've never had a problem with galleries - unlike free sites).

I name them after the tgp (actually I let the submitter do it) I'm submitting to so I can track the hits to my sponsers easier. I used to do it exactly like you just said before it dawned on me that it would be much easier tracking them with the names of the tgps. I also use a seperate page for each tgp, even one where I could get away with using the same one for three.

Name them in a way you can track them easiest unless you like clicking on links and opening galleries.

Smartest thing a webmaster can do is start trading with others.... just remember to always stay on the up-n-up with other webmasters.

Looks like this is just the beginning for ya. Who knows, you might be a 10k hits a day here in 6 months.
