What's with all this "join one site, free access to 60 sites"!

I'm doing some site reviews, and I'm coming upon a lot that if you join one site you get access to that companies whole "network of sites".

A lot say you get access to anywhere from 8 to 70 sites! What's the point in even trying to push them to any one then, why not just say "here, this is 70 sites for the price on one, join now"!

It seems to really dilute anything you get in one site since you have access to all those other sites. Also if you can have that many sites, why ever join a single site?

Also, if they really have 70 sites, why not just pick 5 or so sites that you can join, then they still could get more paying members for the others and still offer a great deal.

I just feel like detailing all the stuff you get in one site is so wasted when you get up to 70 sites. I just want to say "what difference does it make what this site has, you have 70 sites going with it, just join"!

Marketing Bill , people love getting something for free, buy one get one free, it works wonders in retail.

Same principle here, many sites offer a porn pass that offers you access to more than one site eg megapornpass and phatasspass

Someone might be reluctant to sign up to a site offering say just big tits , but if they get access to anal , butts etc etc it just sweetens the deal.

In times past, companies would just cookie cutter the first website they made, plug in some niche content, and then connect it up to their main pool of content. They would continue this process, and soon they had three million websites.

It was a huge draw to tell people that 'hey, if you join this site, you get access to three million more!'. People think that it's such a huge amount of porn, wow, why not.

Over time, the 'exclusive content' concept became more popular, meaning that it was much more important to have a large collection of content that you wouldn't see anywhere else, rather than a huge pool of content that could have been seen on seventy other sites already.

Some of the sites that are offering a network of tonnes of sites are leftover from the old days, and are simply cookie cutters of each other, with little content each and just a huge shared pool of content they each access.

Some of them are networks of good quality sites that are simply offering the surfer a really kickass deal for their money, and pulling more sales because of it.

Oh, I see Monica. Well, I think a few of the ones I'm reviewing are the crappy shared pool type thing!

However I also have been doing those sites called "big tits round ass" "big tits at school" and all those. They seem pretty good. But I have noticed the same girls on each site, just doing something different.

It sure makes it hard doing reviews though, I feel like all my 500 word descriptions don't mean a thing once I just say "you get 70 sites, join ya dumb ass"!

Its all about the rebills, you have a much better chance of retaining a surfer if there is more content then they can wack to during a month.

Sometimes I promote the fact that a sponsor offers many sites with a single membership, sometimes I let them find out on the tour.

depends on how you're marketing the sponsor.

Bill, when you write up reviews, you have to keep in mind that people want to know about that one particular site.. Sure, it's awesome to get bonuses, but people don't buy memberships just for the bonuses. As balls_deep said, it's about the rebills.

For your reviews, make sure you tell them what they are going to find inside the site that's relevant to that one particular site. They want to know if it has what it promised on the tour. How much content is there, what kind of content, how many updates etc etc.

Everyone has covered everything adequately I think but unless I missed it the main question didn't really get answered and that's why would a sponsor do this since instead of joining several of his sites the surfer only needs to join one. The answer is that except for a very very rare surfer, no one joins more than one website at a time and the usual scenario is that a guy joins a big boob site and then a month or two later gets bored and wants to look at trannies or teens so he quits the big boob site and joins another site. If it's not one of the first site owner's sites (which is likely) then that site lost a member. However, if when you sign up for my big boob site I also give you access to my tranny site, my Asian site, my lesbian site, etc. you have no reason to quit and go looking for another niche site to join, you have it all and you'll stay a member for a long time.

Now, one big problem IMO with this philosophy is that many of the large sponsors that do this actually share the same content among all of their sites like the old mega sites. The problem with that is that they probably don't really have a lot of any really great quality content from each on particular niche so although it sounds good on paper, it doesn't always work out the way the sponsor had hoped. They've basically taken the idea of the mega site and just broken the tour up into several niche tours instead of one mega tour.

In theory.... But that's not how surfers like myself think/behave when joining sites.

A lot of my sponsors do this, but my perspective as a webmaster AND surfer is:

You usually get what you pay for. I know that sounds simple and childish to say, but here's why..............

If I buy a subscription to Abbywinters, or Ishotmyself, or other high quality sites, I'm going to get the best exclusive material, but it's gonna cost $30+ a month

However, if I sign up to a runofthemill goth site (for example) but they offer me 60 other sites.....well, I'm *not* interested in the preggo, tranny (sorry, just an example), fisting, or teens that makes up the other 60 sites.

Makes me think that the site I'm signing up for can't carry enough weight to keep me recurring, so they make up for it with a mess of other subject matter that doesn't do much for me.

I've gotta question whether it's worth it to spend $15 on 60 sites, or $30 on one.

Since I know my niche and interests of what turns me on, I'll choose the latter.

However, I don't see my personal way of thinking affecting my stats. I get sales from both kinds of surfers.

Good points Pyratas and yet you promote a $1 trial sponsor in your sig and they work so obviously there is a very large percentage of surfers that don't share your opinion and are looking for a bargain.

Fortunately, you don't represent the majority of surfers.

There is no way any of you can or should compare yourself to the average porn surfer. All of you know how this business works and are savvy to the tricks and scams. You know that most of these sites aren't going to give you a ton of high quality porn in every one of those sites, BUT the average surfer doesn't know that, how could they? The average surfer, especially the new ones, doesn't know the difference between a quality site and a lousy one if they both have good tours and even after they join, they still wouldn't really have any way of knowing if it's the first site they'd joined because they'd have nothing to compare it to. How would they know that the quality of video isn't the best they should expect?

Everybody makes good points. However on one of the sites, or networks, it's a BBW site. And on each one they say join this BBW site and have access to 8 other BBW sites.

So they are saying they give you sites within the same niche. On each one they really don't say how much content is in each one, really flaky.

Also just from seeing the FHG you see the same girls on each of those sites. So in this case it seems like a place that does not have much in each one and is using all sites to make it look like a lot.

But why not take all that content and make one big site then? If I was surfing and found a place that offered 8 or more sites for the price of one, I would get red flags going off and think they had to be pulling a fast one on me.

I'm a big fan of both the Brazzers and BangBros. networks. They offer a dozen quality, original content sites for thirty bucks a month, and they make a killing off of a great product.

Think about it Bill. Does it make more sense to promote 1 site or 8? Even if you share the same content among all 8, you have 8 times more chances at a sign up. Obviously the red flags don't go off very often or the major sponsors wouldn't be doing this.

Why do you spend so much time questioning why people do things? You don't have one paysite let alone 8 so it's not like you're asking because it's an idea you're considering trying and if as an affiliate you make money promoting a sponsor with multiple sites for the price of one, who cares how or why they do it?

Oh come on now Hammer, all the people who ever made the next best thing questioned things. If something does not seem to make sense to me, I want to know why everyone else thinks it does.

That's the only way you ever discover a better way, or a different way to do things. Besides, it gives this board another post, which it needs right now.

Perhaps this is true of the 1st timer. But I would think that even the 1st timers are a bit smarter than we give them credit for. No doubt, there are some idiots out there, but I would be surprised if the majority of 1st timers were idiots.

On a second note. I think a lot of adult site owners just aren't that smart from a business standpoint. You can see the evidence in the affiliate programs, and you see the evidence in these all for 1 deals. There are some guys that do the all for 1 deals excellently... but not everyone can do it that way and effectively compete with the best guys. I really believe (if some owners were smart enough) they'd realize that they could make more profits selling sites separately as opposed to all for 1. I've seen it done before with success.

As long as my site makes me money, I could give a shit about the surfer habits!




However, my $1 trial (which made so much money last year) is doing almost nothing.....

Now my signups are for a site that charges $30-$90 and I have 14 recurring...on top of my other sponsors,

Nice way to top off CCBILL and all of the others---all income is good income!

It's slower and a little less money so far this year, but consistent.

Considering I gave up on updating porn sites awhile back (I'm studying my MCSE)......The checks keep coming in!

Multi site deals are just marketing bullshit, pure and simple, and I haven't made a single sale promoting them. Anyone else had any luck?
