a link strategy question
so I am wondering, say I have a site, I'll call it milf.com for this example. and then I have some niched pages, like milf.com/blonde.html or something. A micro niche page within milf niche.
Then I build a separate micro niche site, blondemilfs.com Now I am looking to really push the pr for my main site milfs.com. blondemilfs.com is a doorway of sorts, I mean it will stand on it's own as a site, but will not be nearly as expansive as milf.com In this situation, would it be better for me to send all incoming links to milf.com, or perhaps is it better for blondemilfs.com to link to milf.com/blonde.html Another way to look at is, if category type pages gain pr, will the entire domain? Or the homepage at least? Or is it just smarter to send all links to the homepage to build the pr of a domain? Whew, hope that makes sense. |

If you link to milf.com/blonde, then that particular page will gain the PR. Generally, the page you are pointing to is the one that gains the PR.
I think you should link a bit to both, like twan says. However, you have to also look at whether you are hosting both domains on seperate IPs. Google won't give you much if you are linking from a domain on the same IP to another one. At least, that's what I've read. |

hey, thanks for your replies, separate IPs are a must, IMO, all my sites are on separate IPs. I was just kinda curious if one would get better results linking to a category type page from a micro niche site that more matches that category specifically rather than the more general homepage. I mean it's all Milf really, but the micro niche sites would seem to be more relevant to a specific category.
Just questioning the relevancy angle, and looking to build a network of related sites. basically the main site will be a hub of sorts, with all the micro niche sites pointing in...and little pointing out. new projects are so much fun right? |

I actually enjoy starting on new projects b/c I always feel like this one will be the goldmine... Ha!
I'd second Monica and Twan; but I'm also skeptical about the whole PR thing in general about just how much it matter anymore. Just the term and concept of PR is almost becoming the equivalent of "TGP skim" - something that other webmasters care about but which may or may not matter in SERPs. |

I wouldnt worry about it to much only one way links from sites google thinks is an authority on the subject will cause any impact.
If you post free sites to link lists the warning page may get to pr 3 but the galleries linked to by the warning page will stay at pr 0 Link them to where you want the traffic to go.
