I''m running a Hub Site. It contains all my free sites I build and send to Link Lists. I still suck and have learned very little about the real world.

However, I am smart enough to know I'm loosing ground in regard to my page rank. I recently found my site boasting a PR0 again! I had PR2 just a few weeks ago. Not sure what I did to fuck it up.

I'm taking part in a few link exchanges once more. Some consider it a traffic leak for the Hub, while others say link trades are a must for a decent PR.

What say you? Will a link exchange on my index page help me in aspects to Page Rank? Or do I bury those recip links on my links page deeper in my site?

A links page doesn't do much good because you need sites to link to the page you want PR for and having a high PR on a links page won't be of much benefit on Google. If a bunch of sites link to a links page on your site that doesn't affect the PR of any other page, only the page that has all the inbound links. And no one is going to link to your main page in exchange for being stuck on a links page.

Since it's a hub, you could treat it more like a fake TGP and actually add a trade script and try trading traffic with other fake TGPs but that won't help your PR since trade scripts don't usually use hard links. You could put a "friends" list on your main page though and I wouldn't consider it a traffic leak as long as you got a similarly prominent spot on the sites your trade with. Any traffic you lose to them would be made up in traffic they lost to you, in theory.

Hey Hammer, I've got my links displayed on my links page but I also have a copy of that links table put way beneath the fold on my index page.
Any problem with that that I should know about?

I usually only give out index page trades if someone is giving me an equally valuable trade.

I doubt it would be a problem but I don't see the benefit. Why have a links page if you're going to put them on your main page too?

Because you said links on a link page doesn't do much good. I already new that. So, all my links are where my link friends think they should be - on the links page. On the index page I've pasted that same table waay beneath the fold (my enter click is at the top so they're is no reason to go beneath).
So wouldn't it make sense to have my links happy and have a secret clone of the links page down below on the index page for seo - pr whatever?

Lana, your missing something. If your links you linked to have the page they link to as your links page, then copying to your front page does no good.

They have to have your front page as the one they point to. If they already do, then having them on the links page is pointless.

If they link to your links page, then the ones on the front page do nothing for you but give them more exposer.

So, only have links on front if they also link to your front page, not the links page. But on a paysite, I would not have links on the front.

Oh yeah, I see what you mean. Duh.
Having the links page pasted on my index page does do me a little good though because my index page will a lot of times show up on searches when people Google those other sites. My links page never shows up on those searches.
