How did you learn to build websites?
So I'm just curious... we all know at least a little about web design and building different sites, etc. But I'm curious to know how you all learned the things you know today? Obviously we have to know stuff about graphics and coding and many other things, some of which can be quite technical.
I know for me personally, I learned everything I know about building websites on my own, through trail and error. I never took any design or coding classes or anything like that, and I didn't have anyone around to teach me. Naturally, there's a lot of of stuff that I can't do because I haven't figured it out yet. But I can still do a lot, thanks to programs like dreamweaver .So, how did YOU learn your craft?? |

I've always been a big computer geek, using them since I was a child and always having one in my home.
I started building websites back when the whole concept was still very new. I also majored in computer science at University (I switched majors later due to a new passion in photography) so that is what gives me an edge when it comes to customizing scripts and fudging around with things like Wordpress. I'm completely self taught when it comes to the web though.. |

No courses or classes here either.
I build my first webpage using only information I found in help file of HTML editor I had. For second page I needed too google how to make animated buttons and menu. Then I googled how to make pictures and graphics ‘web friendly’ I tried to make lifestyle/ humor blog on one of the free blogging services, but frankly – I didn’t learn a thing while doing this. I did only one real mainstream webpage before I decided to try my skills as adult web designer. Only when I joined Cozy I started learning about SEO, traffic, affiliate programs. So it’s all your fault that my SEO is semi random, my traffic sux, and my aff .. wait, to be true, my affiliate is quite decent. I did a handful of blogs. And each is better than the previous so I must be learning something. Now I am considering moving form free host to own domain and trying my skills at wordpress bloging tools. btw. How to be sure that templates I find are free to use for commercial adult blog? |

*Marketing thanks to Cozy* In the mean time I'm great with video editing, and production, but am retarded with Flash. Welcome to a never-ending (yet fun) endeavor! The essential thing is to get good at CSS! Good luck! ---Doc
