Choosing a domain name
I want to get some opinions on choosing a domain name for your site by content description vs some random title. If my site is about Japanese girls doing anal, is it really better that I call my site something like Japaneseanalwhores.com as opposed to something completely random like kitashi.com?? Is not having a descriptive domain name just asking for problems?

Re: Choosing a domain name
Go with Japaneseanalwhores.com unless your a marketing wizard and can make kitashi.com a household name. I can remember theHun or Shemp off the top of my head but Kitashi is likely never going to make it into my brain space.

I was just using kitashi as an example. Im not really gonna name my site that, but I just wanted to find out if an original name could be just as effective as a descriptive one.

It depends on how you are planning on marketing the site. do you want SE traffic or are you trying to brand it?

I'm trying to brand it. But I figured I might be able to get some SE traffic from text in the site though... if I do it right. Im just unsure about a lot of things right now.

pick one or the other, a great search name or a catchy brand, you cant market any name with both... well probably not.

I would always go with the SE search word in the title. It takes a long time to brand and you can always do both.

It's not just a branding issue.
If you get someone to link to your site with a text link but they don't have room for a description, do you think more people will click on JapaneseAnalWhores.com or Kitashi.com? If someone is telling their friend about your site, would it be easier for them to tell them to check out Japanese Anal Whores dot com or Kitashi.com and then have to explain what the site is about? And then of course, there's the SE issue. Very few companies have the money or the skills to properly brand a domain name so I would never recommend that anyone plan on doing that. If you get lucky and your domain becomes a household word, great, but don't plan on it.
