I need a good keyword tool

I usually use http://inventory.overture.com to get a rough idea for which keywords and phrases are searched for, but the service is down for me more often than not lately. Does anyone have an alternative to recommend? Thanks!

Have you taken a look at Word Tracker's new free keyword facility? Their pro, but costly, software is the best there is, so I would expect their free stuff to be good, too.

Yeah, I like Good Keywords, but it pulls its results (at least the best ones) from overture anyway, so it's been useless also lately.

Overture goes through these phases it seems. I don't get it, but I'm getting sick of it.

02/05/07: Yahoo has announced that the Overture Keyword Suggestions Tool will no longer be "supported", which means it can go away at any time.

Published by Robert who runs the Tooter facility, some months ago. So any other facility taking its feed from there is unlikely to be useful for much longer unless it changes its source, too.

Here's what I do. I go to the mall and stand around with a clipboard and a pen so everyone thinks I'm taking a survey. Then I have my wife stand next to me wearing something sexy so people will actually stop and talk to me. I ask them if they'd mind taking part in a short survey and they all say "sure" so I tell them we're going to do some word associations and I want them to say the first thing that pops into their heads when I say certain words.

No research done, odysseus. I use Tooter a lot in "my day job", so have been aware of that posting for a while. He does his research well, sifts fact from SE rumour and keeps me on the ball for SE submissions. I emailed him recently to see if he had any objections to my using his site for adult submissions, and he's cool with that, too.

Totally disagree. I do a lot of PPC and I must say that keyworddiscovery.com returns a better data set. Dropped wordtracker over them along time ago. Wordtracker data is comprised of meta search engine data from places like dogpile and then estimated upon. KWD, IMO, returns closer results because they get there data from more sources

I use KWD and Word tracker to pull terms then I take them into the Aaron Walls tool over at tools.seobook.com and finally I hit the adwords keyword tool and the traffic estimator..

Gotta say the best tools out there are inside of your AdWords account.
