First day on job, last day on job,,,,,

OOhhh my head! It has been a really bad day. I got two calls today, both cleaning companies that wanted to hire me. The first one said they wanted me to start right tonight. Ok fine, I'm ready.

It is a bunch of banks, you go in anytime at night and clean them. Here's the keys, the alarm code, directions, there ya go, bye!

Uh, wait, Is someone going to be there to show me just what they want done, where all the cleaning stuff is??? I see this look on his face, seen it before.

You don't have anyone doing those, do you, I asked?? Uh, no.

(what this means is the person that was doing them quit on the spot, and the superviser that is responsable for making sure they get done does not want to go out and do them, or show the new guy what to do.)

Well,,, ok fine, I'll do them. What do you have for cleaning stuff? Uh, heres some bags, wipes, broom and one of those things you push back and forth to pick up trash like a vacuum, but not!

So I head out to the first one. It is much farther away then I thought. No cleaning stuff, no gloves, bathrooms are a mess and I'm cleaning the toilets with a paper towel!!! Needs a good vacuum, but I don't have one, the thing he gave me does not work.

Get to the next one, see it's even bigger, even more of a mess. Quick thinking: spending 10 bucks for gas to get there, getting only 3 hours, 23 bucks,, minus 10 bucks for gas= 11 bucks for 3 hours.

Angry sets in, I start to leave everything there, but then remember I have those keys, I have to take those back. So I just dump what is in there in the breakroom and go home.

In the morning I'll take the rest of the stuff back, dump them in the office without a word. So I SPENT about 15 bucks on gas total for my first job!!

I'm going to bed, nite nite.

You know, if you poke around a bit, you might be able to find work here online doing grunt work for other webmasters.

In my experience, shit jobs always just make me want to work harder on my own stuff.

How did you end up spending 15 bucks on gas for one trip to the job? You're either driving a V12 or you really need to get something a little closer. I fill up my Volvo for about $40-45 and thats about a 12 gallon tank which gets me at least 200 miles of city driving and usually a lot more with freeways. How far do you have to drive for this bad job? That right there, you're losing money.

It's Xmas time, for Christ's sake no pun intended. And from what I remember of Central Florida it's malls galore, you must be able to get retail or restaurant work during the shopping season.

And if you can't, don't blame yourself, I'm unemployable as well, why do you think I became a member of Cozy? But, we can do it!

Please Bill, Keep in the industry!

I put up one site, and although I haven't looked at taxes, I pulled between $7-$9 grand with only about 200 hours upkeep (and $4 dollar/mo hosting) thanks to all on Cozy (eh, hem, Hammer, et al. ) this year!

It's not getting me rich, but money is money!

I've left the site in question to die, as I'll be working in a non-adult site, but, really, your idea of Belinda's blog just comes across as a money maker if you market it right......

Thanks for the chin up stuff everyone. Oh I am not stopping my blogs or any of my online stuff, no way. I just need to get some cash coming in somehow, and It's been fustrating.

Most places pay once every 2 weeks. So that means work two weeks, then get paid the week after. So that's THREE weeks before you get your first pay. 3 weeks of paying for gas to get to work before you see any $$.

I have another cleaning job I will start Monday, will see how that goes. I know I will find work and get everything back together, it's just getting through the next few weeks and putting up with crap like last night.

I know in time I will work full time on the web, I KNOW I will. Meantime I got to do what I need to, to pay the few bills I have. I always screw up when it comes to money. I should have gotten a part time job a few weeks ago. But I always do that, wait too long.

I am just mad at myself, I always get myself behind financially. Well, time to go throw those keys in that guys face. Maybe I can find one of those "work today, get paid today" places. Where all the bums hang out. Money is money!

I agree with everyone else, don't give up, keep at it. You have a good blog and you can make it even better with effort and learning. If you need quick cash, here are a few suggestions.

1. look around your house for things you no longer use or need. Then post them on Ebay or another auction site.

2. If your health allows it, sell your blood plasma. You will get paid for helping hemopliliacs (sp?) deal with their problems.

3. Volunteer for clinical studies. Major drug companies have to conduct clinical trials on people for their new drugs before they are approved for sale to the public.

The big advantage of these programs is you do not have to pay federal, state, local, municipal, FICA, UIC, Medicare etc etc taxes on these sources of income as long as it does not exceed a certain amount, last I read $600.00 annually. Every dollar of unreportable income is worth $1.10- $1.50 or more depending on the employer. Also, these income sources do not expect the same degree of comittment that "day job employers" require.

Yes Hammer, I do. I don't pay any rent, and they even feed me. But, even then I have personal bills. Such as:

Gas money
car insurance
cell phone bill
wireless bill for my laptop
hosting ATCI
personal everyday products
merchant account minimum monthly bill
yahoo store bill

So, even without rent or food, you stil need several hundred a month if you want to keep working on the net. Plus if I really want to get going with my blogs and all I would like to get a few more programs and stuff.

It just takes a bunch of money no matter what. As we all know, you can't expect to put no money in a biz and somehow think you will make any. Money= more money.

Gotta go, going to see able body labourers, kelly services and manpower temps. They all pay same day you work. Just got to watch you don't get your truck broken into while your there. Those places tend to attract the desperate people (what are you looking at)?

Thanks theviking, yes I have a lot of ideas. BUT, right now I am choosing between which people will not get paid and what I can do without, so I have to tend to that first.

Just got back from the temps, they all want me to fax in my resume and they will get back to me. I am thinking of selling my laptop. I hate too, it's a dell and damn nice. But while I am here I use the girls pc.

So If I sell that I can keep the nessesities paid until whatever job I get kicks in. I am going to have to put my time into regular work for a while.

So I will post once a day in my blog, then work on whatever other porn blog or what not I can. At least I got to make my blog and I learned a lot.

One day I will just do blogs, I know. But, not today.

I understand the need to get money coming in immediately.

Sell what you can, get rid of unnecessary expenses, and get a part time job. It will feel like you are drowning until you catch up financially, but when you do, things will feel a lot better.

And of course, you can still focus on your blog and branching out while you're at it. There are LOTS of people that do this part time, and it takes awhile to get to a place where you can work at this full time, especially with blogs. It can take a long time for a good blog to mature... but when it does, wow you'll be sailing!

I really think you should take what you've learned and start making more blogs Bill. You could easily make a few good porn blogs and get them going to generate some traffic and perhaps some sales.

Hey Monica. Again, trying to make a porn site cost money! I don't even own a video camera. Yes at one time me and the girls where going to go into that together.

But things change. They have seen me working real hard on this stuff, and see no money. So they assume there is no money in it. They don't understand all the stuff we do, how long it takes.

They are just like "well, he's been working 24/7 on that computer and not hardly a dime, so I guess there is no money in it."

So now they don't want to go into anything with me. Which is just as well, as I can keep 100% of the $$ now! But that means waiting till I have the TIME and the MONEY to buy stuff and hire someone to shoot.

When your choosing between a coffee for the day or a gallon of gas, you have to focus on the here and now. Right now I just have to get money in, that's it.

I have been filling out online applications for even full time jobs now. Anything that will get me started asap. I put a help wanted thing in the hire section but no bites. But really I don't know much anyway, except bilinda post and all.

So again, I have to just stick to a real job for now, do what I can on the blogs, and that's it. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

After reading this thread, it's made me even more determined not to give up on doing Hentai websites to make some money while looking for a job and even though I've not had the chance to start work on them due to personal problems in my life getting in the way, i'm still determined to start work on my sites sometime in the next few months as well as do some niche blogs including futanari, toons and Asian to bring some money in.

I may be unemployed myself and i've had my ups and downs but hopefully 2008 will be a better year for both Bilinda and I.

If you choose "normal" job you should look into the future what chances of promotion will you have.
In December I earned 320 buck and I even don't mind to go to normal job because I know that after few months I will be earning 640 bucks and so on.

BTW. You should be thankfull to the God that you were born in USA. In Poland people earn 400-450 bucks for cleaning jobs (10 hours a day). 1 liter (0.5 galon) of gas costs about 2 bucks. Few months ago I bought my first car, nine years old volvo s80 it costed about 11k bucks. Don't waste your life chance.
