New Year's Resolutions

It's just about that time of year. Has anyone thought about what resolutions they are going to make?

Well, in addition to looking into AA, I think I'm going to start losing sponsors that are nothing more than glorfied link leaks.

I'll give this more thought though before commiting to either one.

Fuck the AA idea. I'd have nothing in common with my Grandmother or the rest of my family if I didn't drink more than fish do.

I will put together my daughters college and trust fund in 08.

I will also break my daily income record repeatedly.

I grew up fishing every summer as a kid. I'm the kind of fisherman that throws the fish back. I simply find the process relaxing and fun. Yet the last time I fished was 11 years ago.

My attention has been consumed with career, study, finances and building my reputation for way too long.

Now that I'm a Dad, I don't want my son living this lifestyle or thinking it's normal. So I'm going to show him how to enjoy life & that starts with me enjoying mine!

Sometimes I suppose it takes having a kid to re-learn how to act like one, and that's certainly a good thing in my book!

AA jokes aside, here are mine:

1. Quadruple or at least triple my porn income. I think I can do it. If I quadruple, I can seriously cut down on the shit jobs that I do freelancing now and have more time to concentrate on my art and seek out the jobs that I really want to do. if I'm up to 'have laptop will travel', I'll also finally make good on my promises to see my friends and family overseas which I haven't done in years.

2. Learn more techniques related to making money in this biz and experiment with them and learn what works and what doesn't, then rinse, lather and repeat.

3. Quit smoking. For real. I am really not looking forward to it but it needs to happen.

4. Exercise. (Boring as hell to me in principle but related to #3.) A friend of mine quit both booze and cigs a few months ago. He says it feels like being a kid again. It will certainly make me bounce off the walls for a while but there is not alternative.

5. Spend more time outside. I sometimes take Southern California for granted and keep the shades down in a dungeon of smoke.

6. Look into another place to live. As in, possibly another country...

Or Planet. No one has used the alien yet->

Actually, the AA think wasn't a joke. I been trying to show up at a meeting over the past few years, but the bars just keep jumping out into the street and blocking my path every time I head to one.

Good luck with number one. That's my intention too. You'll probably do good with your financial goal, but working the art part in is going to be the tough part. It's hard to wrap your mind around it when you're doing this stuff.

I was so proud of myself yesterday because I actually got up at around 4 am and worked until noon on this story treatment I'm trying to flush out, but normally I can't clear my head enough to write anything when I'm trying to make money in this.

I might hit the streets with a video camera this year just to try to get something creative going. I'm starting to get restless being just a cyber pimp
