Ok, I have my mainstream blog, Bilinda's blog, almost done. Well, a blog is never done, but I mean I just need to add a few more things and all. Once I do that I want to direct my attention to my cross dressing porn blog.
The one I have now will be a great long term site, but short term I'm not gonna make squat. A porn blog on the other hand will get quick returns due to the amount of linking avalable. Now, I am still going to make it a "real" blog. I can reuse the post I already have, I will just reword them. Here and there I will put in a post about "mandy the hot CD go check her out" stuff. I will make it a large site with lots to see and do, along with my own pics and videos I hope. My question is, if I have both sites on the same server, both a cross dresser site, will I run into problems with google? Will the big G see it as duplicate, even though there will be no same post, as I will make sure to reword them all? What about the theme for WP? I would love to use the same one as I am use to it. But again, will that make google see it as too much like the other one? So should I get a different theme? Also there is a good chance someone who reads Bilinda's blog will come across the porn one. As I have my pictures on both they will know it's the same "girl". What the hell do I say when that happens? Ok enough questions, those are the biggies. Thanks all!

There seems to be some ideas floating around re google looking down on interlinking your sites too much. I can't see a problem with rewording the text but I'm a newbie and particularly with trying to figure out the google gods.
I would definitely recommend using a different theme, however. There are so many to choose from that it gets hard to find the one you like, but each of your blogs should look different - unless they're intended to be related. Also I've read that different themes are better or worse for SEO. I don't understand how or why, though. |

Oh I am not going to link them, no way! I mean that they are on the same server, and both being cross dressing sites. Yeah, I guess I should get a new theme. But I'm still getting a 3 colume one, they are the best for displaying the most.

I just want to add in my experience there is absolutely no problem linking to your own sites. Why wouldn't you link to your own sites? Especially if they are the same niche and contain different content. I have linked my own sites, on the same server(s) for years and all of my domains get google traffic.
A wordpress theme is going to have no bearing on how google sees your site. If you want it to look different for your surfers then by all means use a different theme. Google will not penalise your site if it has the same theme as another.

Google wont pay alot of attention to two way links. Link your own blogs it may help with bookmarks but not PR. As for duplicate content, if you post the same article in five cats it can be accesses from five url's you already have duplicate content. Use no index in the robots file to stop this. If its re worded with new headings it will be fine.
If your blog gets sucsessful people will use your rss and import your articles anyway!

Thanks for the advice so far everyone. I can see all this work will pay off in the long run. It's just hard waiting for the cash to come in when your down to your last 100 bucks.

The problem isn't really that google looks down on you interlinking your sites, the problem is the algo can't tell the difference between normal linking and a webmaster trying to pass PR throughout his network of sites. So when you interlink many sites and many pages you could trip something even though you're not trying to do anything blackhat.
In your case though Bill, two blogs linked won't cause any problems that I can imagine. Nor will having them on the same server although the best option would be to get a new IP for the second blog. But two sites on the same IP is fine for now if you are tight on cash. |

Hi mynameisjim. They have their own IP's. I have about 6 on the same server, all with different IP's. I think that's a good idea.

I recently found out that I've been adding new domains to the same IP. Need new reading glasses, but it hasn't hurt me in the SEs.

If they are on seperate IPs, there's absolutely no issue (and there definitely wasn't one to begin with if they aren't linked).
With surfers, I wouldn't worry about anyone finding both blogs and thinking HEY, there's two of this person! I used to worry about such things, but then realized it doesn't really matter. If the site is that different, most people aren't going to care. |
