is adobe photoshop still the daddy? also what is the extended version?? is it just an upgrade from the original or what???

The Extended version allows importing of .obj files (3d objects).

is there much use for that in this biz??(3-d objects). what are the average prices for photoshop and the extended version. the reason i ask is if its still the best out there is i may be able to get either at a discounted rate so if it still top dog would you suggest i go for it.

Well, my avatar started in a 3d program (Poser) and then I did post-work using Photoshop. There are now a lot of high quality free 3d programs.

Daz3d produces Daz Studio (www.daz3d.com) which is free.
Blender is an open source 3d app that seems to be quite popular as well (www.blender.org).

Poser has it's own cult following (members affectionately refer to themselves as "pose-a-holics"). Poser is available through www.e-frontiers.com. Poser is a commercial program (not free).

http://www.cozyflash.com/ seems to be doing well....

Maybe Greg will offer some additional insight here. I suppose it's really a matter of whether or not you have the interest to pursue that niche.

im not into the 3d adult thing-as of yet- but is that all u would use the 3-d on the extended version of adobe.

Hmmmm. I guess the best way for me to answer that is to say that I'm using it to the extent I use it because I need to either for business or pleasure.
