When am I ready (sponsorship)
Hello Webmasters! Today I was going to take a major step towards creating my freesite...joining a sponsor. I know which sponsor I want to promote, I have registered my domain, etc. Yet I still don't even have content! How can I design a site with no content?!! So the question I propose to you all is; Firstly, does it cost to join a sponsor? Should I depend on them for my content? (Or should I create independently from a content provider) Finally, the question of the day is how do I know when I'm ready to sponsor?

The problem with using sponsor content will be getting accepted at linklists because many other webmasters will be using the same content sets as you. Also, overtime you will need to make a fair number of freesite templates which you can use over and over. This will keep it fresh for the freesite reviewer and increase your chances of getting accepted. ---art

Not to sidetrack this thread but I've brought up the subject/concerns of using sponsor content not just for duplication concerns with building free sites and galleries for tgps & link lists and what not, but also 2257 regs being based in the US.
I've been seeing one guy's galleries who is promoting one of my better converting niches but he is using it to promote a site that I know for 100% certainty does not have the content he is using to sell memberships with. I think that's not only obviously bogus from an honesty perspective but I wonder how many memberships get canceled and get chargebacks due to this technique. As far as the original poster goes, like everyone said, just go for it, but your sponsor should be able to provide you with basic marketing tools apart from just a referral code?!?! Never heard of this situation unless the site is almost abandoned. |

I usually recommend buying content and not using the sponsors. The only time I would use a sponsor's content is if it's a proprietary site like Bang Bus or a solo model site where using any other content wouldn't be appropriate.
If you use a major sponsor's free content, the only way you'll not be competing with thousands of other webmasters all submitting galleries and freesites with the same exact content is if you're one of their top affiliates and they give you first crack at the content before they make it available to the rest of their affiliates.

![]() You don't have to use content that is actually in the sponsor's members area.

Well, yeah, the thing is, my best converting stuff is proprietary/exclusive stuff a la Bangbros but they either don't give out very much content and/or don't give me enough non-explicit 2257 stuff to promote with. If every set has a cock in a girl's (or guy's mouth), I can only rely on text which makes for a visually boring blog post. But I also do see people using bought content to promote exclusive sites, and I think that is just totally wrong. I don't mind having less content to work with - I think it's good for business all around but when affiliate content hasn't been updated in years, and everyone has seen the stuff it makes it way hard and leaves the other untenable option of using bought content to promote something that won't be on the member site! I need a nap.

Most successful webmasters use purchased content to promote their sponsor's sites and there's nothing bogus about it unless you do something stupid like say "Sign up now and see more of this hot babe" or use purchased content of a MILF to promote a Lightspeed girls site.
I wasn't being sarcastic but I misread what you said. I thought you meant he was using one sponsor's content to promote another sponsor, in which case, that would only be an obvious faux pas if the sponsor's content he was using was exclusive to that sponsor. The vast majority of pay sites use purchased content and have much of the same content as lots of other sponsor's sites. Of course, in most cases it's the sponsors with the exclusive content that convert the best. Phuckbunny think about it this way. Say you promote a TopBucks site. You're one of thousands. Now let's say that you build one TGP gallery and one freesite 5 days a week. First of all, it's highly unlikely that TopBucks has enough free content to do that for very long and second, you're one of hundreds or maybe thousands of webmasters building and submitting galleries and freesites using the same content. Now, suppose you own a TGP or linklist and it's time to approve the days submissions and pick 50 to 100 galleries or freesites to post. What are the odds of a webmaster getting his gallery or freesite listed if he used the TopBucks content and 20 other webmasters submitted a gallery with the same content? Also, most TGP owners aren't going to accept your gallery if they've seen that same photo set within the last week or two which cuts your chances even further. If you use MILF content to promote a MILF site or foot fetish content to promote a foot fetish site and you say things like "click here to see more hot photos like these", there's no surfer out there that's going to get pissed off and quit just because he can't find that exact model in that site's members area. Hell, what are the chances that he's going to go looking for that specfic model in the first place? Now, obviously, if you're promoting a solo model site or a reality site with exclusive content you will have to use their content.

Yeah that's what I was saying basically.... OMG I need a nap... The guy that I brought up while in the same niche is definitely using bought content that the person who signs up for will never see if he becomes a member. I doubt this is a good business practice unless you're selling lower end sites with content that's been recycled and continues to be recycled forever. I mean what if the customer really liked one particular chick on the gallery or free site, expecting to see more of her and surprise she's nowhere in the members' area. I think that's not only unfair to the purchaser but propagates the perception that the porn business people are out to shaft you and equally helps them think that's why they shouldn't have to pay for porn anyway b/c it's a scam.
I mean, what if you go to a gelato shop and try a little chocolate chip and say give me a pint but when you get home and open it, it's tomato and basil? Gross. BTW, I actually saw and tried tomato and basil gelato the other day and it was absolutely disgusting. Anyway, so no, it's not as bad as using MILF to sell Lightspeed but it can and is close enough sometimes. |
