What Is Your Nitche?

Back in the day, (I started in 98) we learned that to really make any money on the web, you need to get a nitche (something you liked) and stick to it. After all if you like it, you know all about it, right?

So do you promote your nitche?

I started with Goth as my niche, I am now branching out into other higher traffic niches.

My niche is travel to asia (thailand particullary).

In porn i promote anything that gives me a fair ROI.

The only webmaster that needs to worry about picking a niche is one that owns a pay site and then only needs to worry about sticking to a niche for each individual pay site. I promote multiple niches and some that I don't even have any personal interest in.

If you owned a restaurant and only liked peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, is that all you would sell?

Those are usually the niches that are giving me the best ROI. If i did have some personal interest in them i bet i could manage an even better roi.

I think more than just paysite owners need to worry about niches. What about bloggers? A lot of them will focus on one particular niche.

Then there are toplists, free sites, and gallery builders. Sure, you can build multiple sites, each with a different niche, but for the most part you don't mix different niches in one site.

And, there are indeed some niches that webmasters know best and become very good at selling, and then it's often good to stick with that niche and really own it.

As for a niche, I prefer to promote niches that I don't really like. I find it easier to work with since when I'm done I don't leave my house feeling like a sex crazed sailor on shore leave.

Good point, but my overall meaning was that although it's important to focus on a single niche with a paysite or perhaps a niche related blog and of course freesites where anyone that mixes niches is an idiot, I don't think it's important for a webmaster to pick a niche or even a few niches that they like and only promote those niches.

You should work whatever niche works for you and keep your mind open and keep rotating.

It's like this. When I first started doing this I was writing (and even selling too, i swear on my mother) so I was looking for those freaky USA network, FX, Dallas, Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives angles and thus I fall upon that whole cuckold interracial niche slutty housewife angle.

Sounds great to me, but alas. I wasn't the first the think of it.

So next thing I know I'm promoting black chicks, sort of a 180, but that's what the keywords etc. etc. etc. started doing for me.

Just a note. Don't fall in love at first site. Eat a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwhich first

UNDERSTAND THE NICHES, BUT DON'T DEVOTE YOURSELF. Unless of course she's really hot and will do anything you say; then do it for a week

By the way though, BARELY LEGAL TEENS is my best seller now and that may be due to my sponser but I think it's a misnomer
