Do you bloggers manually ping Google?

Just curious. I usually don't b/c I've actually been doing allright with the big G lately but just as I read that G is starting a new little dance, I checked my indexed pages and sure enough they dropped by almost a 1/4 in the past day which is very odd. Would giving them a ping help? I kind of am nervous about pinging them too much.

Every porn blog I have is on auto pilot.

I do have a couple domains that I want to turn into QUOTE real blogs UNQUOTE, but haven't been able to decide how to work them yet, so after I stuff them full of junk, I'll probably put them on auto pilot too.

hey pb, my google sitemap plugin pings google whenever i change a page or add a post. plus pingoat hits google if you use them.

I've heard that the trouble can happen if you set up a bunch of posts for scheduled release, because Wordpress (assuming you are using it) will send out a ping for each one when it is created, not when it's scheduled to be posted. This can result in a tonne of pings being sent at once and various places blocking you for ping spam.

I have been letting WP do the work which has been fine but I've been seeing indexed pages lost... Not sure.

Monica I have heard about that as well, that WP pings once the post is saved not published. Hasn't been an issue for me so far but I usually just make a written list of stuff I want to post for the following day to be on the safe side.

PP - how do you autopilot? Newbie question all the way, I guess you mean put your posts in some kind of auto-rotator. Does this work for traffic? If so, is there a script or a plugin you use?

The auto pilot I mean I got from zipped sites. I forget what it's called but if you can't find it or figure out I'm talking about I'll email a zip of the plug in to you.

Yes, it's just an auto rotator though so whatever you're using is fine I'm sure.

My feelings about blogging in porn is HIT and RUN, meaning put up a blogs, pull feeds, get the sign ups, and move on. I'm affiliate orientated, meaning I can't sell myself (though I'm working on that)

Don't work my angles if you have something unique to sell, because I have no idea how you should proceed on those angles, (although I'm hoping to real soon).

P.S. I'm drunk on my ass right now so excuse my spelling just pm or email me for that plug in if you need it.

you could just jump over to zipped sites and download his whole kit. It used to get me a good handful sign ups with various sponsers I wasn't even pushing until them, but I don't know if he's keeping his stuff up to date anymore or if that matters.

In answer to your 2257 question. Pulling feeds won't cover you so you have to be ready to deal with the consequences if you're going to break it. A lot of sponsers have softcore rss feeds to pull though as an alternative choice

I'm going to look into the zipped stuff tomorrow. Too exhausted. Sorry if I blew it. Conversions are picking up. Damn I really think I'm getting better at this stuff, about 8-9 months into trying to sell porn , if I can only get it to a level where it will pay my bills and some extra change so it will leave me time for my other work I would praise the Lord. If it can do better then all the better. I really don't want to work in an office anymore....

As far as paying the bills, I haven't had to work another 9-5 job for the last few years, but I live sort of unluxorious at the present time and collect some residuals (actually they're called foriegn levies - think I spelled this correctly) from some screenwriting I've done. Between the two I'm squeaking by, but each month I find myself looking for work (not actually going on interviews or anything crazy like that but I do browse career finder dot com)

Actually my point is, I'm sure there are people on here who are more than comfortable right now doing just this, but I haven't gotten there yet and it doesn't leave me much time for anything else. Still the freedom (no boss) is priceless; for everything else I use visa

Yeah, I hear you. Anyway, I was warned before I got into it.

I wouldn't mind just starting my own porn production company, but the more research I do the less money I find in it with more headaches to deal with.

I actually think this is the best bet and I'm starting to wonder if porn is even the number one money maker in it (I mean I'm sure it is overall), but I'm wondering if something else can push out even more if done right

You can set this up with a list of urls and ping sites then ping on a set schedule.

There are a bunch or wordpress plug-ins that will automaticially ping google each time you make a post. Easy to install and very handy.
