Need a lightweight video editor.

Anyone know of a good, lightweight video editing software. All I need it to do is be able to cut clips from larger movies without all the extra features.

If anybody knows of any let me know, free/opensource would be awesome but for sale stuff is cool to if it's under $100.

Windows Movie Maker will do it but you can only covert to WMV. Ulead is what we we're using before we went Mac. Under a $100.00 and will give you LOT'S of options. Pinnacle is another one,
cheap but notoriously unstable.

Go to PROPERTIES>> Go to SOURCES>> MARK IN and MARK OUT.

I think this is what he's talking about doing and it's what I do all the time to cut smaller clips from bigger ones. It will work for porn content...

PLUS it's absolutely free (though adobe premiere would be much better but unless you get your programs the way I do it's pretty expensive (unless they have one of those stripped down versions like photoshop does).

This can be a pain in the ass program for anything not wmv, but wmv is usually fine for porn, not for what I'm asking you about in the other thread in newbie forum though (not for me anyway)

you can convert other files to wmv format too in encoder though

I use Sony Vegas Video - its totally easy to use, especially for cutting videos and re-rendering. Plus it has loads of advanced features for when you need them too.

Adobe premiere is nice but at $800 it's a bit pricey for what I need to do. For some reason I get the idea Porn Punk and Viking have access to special "discounted" versions

I'll check out the demos of those other ones to which seems the best for what I need. Hopefully WME will get me by until I can decide on some real software.

If all you're doing is trying to pull shorter clips from bigger clips you should have no problem (if you do PM or email me).

If you're trying to optimize or anything else, not sure i can help you but I will try anyway.

I think there might be a way of using it for compiling too, but I haven't been able to figure it out (and I'm not great on reading documentation )

You'll notice there's a section to import several clip sources so I don't know why that would be there unless there was some method of compilation.

Here's a question maybe you can figure out though. How do I make the output clip smaller than the source clip (smaller in byte size I mean as opposed to larger). All my outputs are larger than the source I take them from

Since my wife is a graphic designer and i am a web developer/master it would be a strange thing to do to go out and undermine the wery own buiseness that you self is a part of by buying copied/cracked versions of software.

If you are a toyota merchant you just don't go ahead and buy a stolen toyota....so simple as that.

I got the joke just fine.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that I could check 99.9% of computers and find something on them that could get a person in trouble (even if they didn't know they weren't supposed to have it on there).

On a serious note, most people in this racket already have programs for other stuff they are doing (or at least have access to them).

Programs aren't the answer to success in this business. Certain ones just make things easier, faster and smoother. You don't need that many to get the job done and can start with very basic tools if you have to (usually the ones that come with any windows computer preloaded and store purchased with a receipt and everything)...

I advise against anyone investing in anything that isn't going to turn a fairly quick profit or pay for itself (read up on the lastest 401k reviews). This would go for programs, partner accounts, advertising, crack, bullets, nuclear warheads (whatever your poison is)

But I'm willing to sell anyone just about anything (Including this bridge I just saw yesterday) if they're willing to pay for it. I'm a capitalist.
