I've been experimenting with the so called social porn. My gut instinct tells me that in the immediate sense it's only a little bit better than guba. OK let me rephrase that, it gives you traffic but then you have to figure out what to do with that traffic (e.g.good advertising sales) b/c if you're looking to convert from sponsors I don't think it will make much sense to give more free stuff out to freeloaders. Am I making any sense?

My gut tells me social bookmarking and porn just don't go together.
I read a journal by a someone who worked at an adult video store for several years and she talked about "porn stare" or when the customers would browse the box covers and start to become really focused and oblivious to time and their surroundings. Even when a group of young guys would come in joking and pointing out funny stuff, eventually they would start to zone out to the boxes separately. I think the same holds true for internet porn. When guys are surfing they go into Porn Stare and they don't care about voting for this or that, or commenting on anything for the most part. Sure, some surfers may get into that but if they are not in Porn Stare mode, I don't think they are in Buy-Porn mode either.

There was an article in I think it was Wired recently about web2.0 for porn and how it's not doing anything to help us flesh peddlers, or something like that. The big thing is as Jim said, they're not in buy-porn mode.

I'm kinda confused about the whole social bookmarking thing. Can someone clarify a few things for me?

Right now it only works with a few of these sites, but if it seems worth while, I'll improve upon it. If anyone would like to try it out and offer feedback, let me know. I'd like just a couple people trying it out for now so that I know it works the way I expect before I add to it and release it. Quote:
