Paysite Owners Will This Work?

It's not going to work for everyone and the big guys are not going to need it. But small to medium paysites might like it. It's about building a site and retaining more.

Once a member has signed the best way to keep him is to add new content, for many the cost of adding out weighs the benefits. So what if your site had 22 pieces of content, sets and videos, on a semi exclusive basis, prior to release, only for the members area?

We will sell 7 videos and 15 image sets every month to a select number of clients, say 5 and if it's very popular the content will never reach content store. 3 months prior to their normal release on the content store.

Cost for 22 sets or videos will be $600.

The content will be for your paysite only so no affiliate distribution.

Just thinking about it and want some reactions.

$600 for 22 semi-exclusive photo sets or videos is way too cheap, but if you want to do it, I'm sure plenty of webmasters will go for it.

$30 a photo set for semi-exclusive?

Not sure I understand the for members areas only limitation though. If I bought a bunch of semi-exclusive content for a new pay site, I'd sure want to be able to use it on the tour.

Yes they can be on a tour, in fact I think paysites should emphasis the new content they add. The restriction is the content can't give to affiliates. Our normal license does not cover that. That's what exclusive content is for.

The sets will be released to the paysites 3 months after their release on the "semi exclusive" basis.

Yes, Paul, I think that's way too cheap for semi exclusive. Hell, it's cheap for non exclusive, unless it's old content.

If you're talking solo model stuff, I'd say $75 a set for semi exclusive with a max of 5 sales and never offering it as non exclusive in the future, would still be a very reasonable price for individual sets.

If you want to offer a package price for all 22 sets, I think $1000 would be a very good deal. You might get more bites at the cheaper price, but it doesn't really matter if you're only selling it 5 times.

Paul, when I look at photos and videos, I am mainly looking at the overall composure, the colour balances, the quality of the shot, the professionalism of the videos, etc....maybe I have been doing this too long LOL!!! But I know that your content is nice so I am sure you would do an equally good job on shooting guys as you do girls.

Have you thought of at least doing solo guys?

We tried going the semi exclusive route and saying we would do 5 sales at a fixed price. We did one or two and lost money.

That's the risk, you sell a license on the basis of five sales at $100, do one and the buyer ends up with an exclusive set at $100 and lose money. Put the same set up at $5, sell it 200 times over it's life time and make $1,000. Then sponsors tell us our content is saturated.

The content goes on sale after 3 months. That's why the price it low. But will think about it.

chilihost there's more to pornography than getting the pictures right. Yes we did guys content. It ended up in Bargain Basement being sold off cheap.
