2257 stupid question

Not necessarily true, Balls, because the Adam Walsh bill changed 2257 to cover "simulated" as well as actual sex, and since a photo of a girl sucking a dildo would probably be interpreted as simulated oral sex, I would guess that attorneys would tell you that it would qualify.

Cropping a hardcore photo does not make it softcore according to 2257. And it doesn't matter whether it was cropped by your or the sponsor.
Another reason to be careful about the free content you use from your sponsors that refuse to provide you with the necessary docs. How do you know whether they cropped the photo or not? Do not trust a sponsor to provide you with accurate legal information, ever.
