Is this a doorway page?

Let's say you're submitting a free site to a bunch of Linklists.

And let's say the site is:
http://www.freesite.com/site1/

In this folder you only have main.html, gallery1.html, and gallery2.html

All of the freesite submissions are exactly the same except for the index page which will have the recips.

So instead of making a separate folder for each copy(with different recips),

what if I did something like
http://www.freesite.com/site1/recips1/index.html
and the ENTER link on that page will point
to http://www.freesite.com/site1/main.html

All of the index pages will point to the same main.html, since everything is exactly the same anyway.

http://www.freesite.com/site1/recips1/index.html
would be the page to submit to linklists.

Is this an ok thing to do?
Or is it something that'll get me banned?

no they won't like it. its the same thing as making index0.html, index1.html.

just pick the best linklist, there is only a handful that bring really nice traffic.

So would it be better then just to make the galleries in separate folders and copy all of the same pics to each one?

how many linklist are you planning on submitting to? there are about 20 that will give more traffic than the other 200 put together. no one is going to list you high with shitty recips next to theirs anyway.

make a good freesite and submit it to the big guys. then make another. don't just keep copying the same site so you can submit it to every linklist there is.

I actually didn't come up with the idea.
What I described is what Chameleon LL Submitter does when it duplicates your freesites.

I was a little surprised when I checked my folder and saw what was going on. If you look at a lot of the top link list sites now, there are many sites doing this.

So I wasn't sure if I was just stupid(and wasting server space with all the copies of the same images) or if it's kind of shady.

Thankfully I decided to handsubmit for the really big sites and just do those the old way.

I submit to about 20ish sites everyday and to another 16 a couple times a week.

The way that works for me, which is the easiest way I came up with is this.

I have my index.html page that gets my primary recip table. For my secondary recip table, I clone my index.html page and call it something like warning.html or home.html. I simply add the second recip table to it and submit away.

Doing it this way only takes an extra 5 minutes to build the second page and get it submitted.

You'll find many LL's don't like index1.html, index2.html, etc....

when i was submitting freesites i used a similar method. i used index.html, index.htm, main.html, main.htm, etc.. been a couple of years though
