File Sharing Sites and US Law

Hi all,

I expect to be slapped around a little for this one, but you can still be gentle if you wish......

I've seen quite a few blog(ish) sites that link directly to video/image sites like yourfilehost, pornotube, imagefap, etc.

I love the idea, because there is so much true amateur porn out there (nearly endless with mini-dvs being so cheap)...

I would like to mix porn, humor, and cool videos together, and try to make money by cam and dating sidebars -- I know this is an already tired trend, but it seems like fun to update rather than a chore.

So, assuming I host a 2257 compliant photo that links to a hosted video on a major filesharing site that I didn't upload ......How long until I can expect a knock on my door from the local DA, if ever?

Does anyone know of a US webmaster that is doing this and still has a 2257 Statement on their site that I can look at?

(Note, this is only an idea, I haven't started anything yet, because I'm assuming I'll get some scary feedback, hehe)

i don't understand the problem? If you are uploading to another site and linking the video then you shouldn't be responsible for the content on say "pornotube".

I guess what I'm getting at, is that if this tip-toes around current 2257 laws, wouldn't every US webmaster be doing the same thing?

Maybe some are, I dunno........

I wish my attorney knew more about porn laws.

I persnally doubt if you will ever get a knock on the door from the FBI so long as the models look over 25. Just my opinion but I don't see the FBI prosecuting people for a filing crime.

However if you put up porn of someone who did not agree to be published you can get sued, not saying they will win I'm saying you can get sued.

If you publish porn it's your job to make sure it's legal.
