Too much Banners!!!

Aloha Everyone,

I have recently put up a blog nitevids.comand asked everyone to give me a crtique.

I got a critique from a very reliable person (Hammer) says that I have to much banners. I tend to think so also. What is a good way to remove the banners but keep a good amount of affiliates so I can aggressively market them. Textlinks are so boring and I would like to keep only the best converters as banners but really don't know which are the best convertors yet.

I currently post blogs for each one but as I post new blogs they get replaced and the user may not see them?

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated thank you.

Banners are usually ugly or gawdy or too much in your face and when there are too many of them, your blog or whatever format your site is tends to look like a banner farm which will turn off many surfers. That's my opinion. A tasteful, clean, uncluttered design will go a longer way for returning visitors, bookmarkers, first time visitors - everyone. I would work on that first, then work on getting traffic to your site. Well selected preview pics and good copy for SE crawl is way more important than banners IMO. Don't underestimate text links, also. I've gotten signups from plain old sidebar text links from sponsors I barely promote.

Ok well I took most of my banners off except a few.

I have them as text links.

Maybe my page will load faster too.

Who's USC 2257 and why does he have a link on everyones page? Is he gonna pay me to have his link on my page?

nitevids, 2257 is the internet porn law that states in the USA you can not display explicit pictures without the correct documents. Do you have these documents? If not then you are violating the law and opening yourself up to possible prison time if you were to be inspected.

Where do I get these documents most everything posted on my page is from affiliates and the pics that I took are personal pics and I don't have docs for that .

What site can I go to learn more about 2257

Balls Deep can probably verify this better than me since he seems up to date on the 2257, but my understanding is if you're using sponsers/affiliate programs you can use their 2257 which they usually have links to either right in their webmasters section or find the links on their main site which you can do by cutting and pasting the sign up code they give you for the tours

BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, if you're using personal pics and they are off anyone but yourself (this would include your wife {being cynical I'd say even more so than most}). You not only need 2257 info, but model releases, proof of age, etc...

Self created pics are far better to use than what the affiliates give everyone, but if you create them yourself it goes a little more complicated than simple 2257.

I would also say you should pay models something even if it's a very minimal amount because work without pay usually cancels a contract. This is way when producers option low budget screenplays for nothing in the hopes they can get it produced, they still send the writer a written check for one dollar.

This last part is sort of apples and oranges but not really.

here's the skinny and i'm only going over this once.

If you show explicit pictures you need 2257 docs. That's the release and a photocopy of a government issued Photo ID.

That means no pink, cock, or penetration of any kind without those docs.

Are your sponsors going to give them to you? No they aren't.

can you legaly link thier 2257 page? No.

you become the custodian of records when you publish the images (put them on your site) That means it is your address and name that needs to be listed on the 2257 page.

if you see an explicit image on any of my sites I can assure you that I have the docs for those images available for inspection.

it depends on where you get your content from. Everything I buy has the 2257 docs included.

of course the models address is listed on all the docs and ID. The benefit of purchasing content is that you own it and can do whatever you want with it.

2257 docs and id just makes the explicit images legal to publish.

I have purchased some content without 2257 docs (I couldnt pass up the price) but I only host and use the non-explicit pics.

I have a few problems with the interpertation of the laws in those links, but i'm not a lawyer, and the interpurtation actually isn't in my favor so it's no biggy, but I do think they're going to have their hands full when they start trying to enforce those laws especially if they go after someone huge with a great civil rights lawyer.

Even so, you should leave me a link with your affiliate code if you're an affliliate with your content provider. I keep meaning to look into purchasing some content sooner or later (probably sooner now).

I'm looking for things with younger looking models so I could really use the 2257 info. That niche has started doing well for me. Even got a blog on the 2nd page of google for a two word phrase so I'd like to keep pushing. I probably should be at least as concerned as you if I've finally figure out how to work google a little

If i have the docs then i show it all.

I am not a content provider, I use purchased content to promote certain sponsors.
