Blog niches

What's the consensus on how specific your blos niches should be for best SE and conversions? And in my opinion blowjob, orgy, anal, lesbians or teen are probably not even a niche, whereas say Balls' Suicide Girls stuff or say a fetish or shemales would count as niches.

I started working on a blog of stuff that I actually like which makes it a breeze to write copy for but I'm worried that I'm being too general. I'm focusing on glam stuff but now I started throwing in BDSM, weird stuff, CFNM, even some celebrity stuff and news. I don't know. The main thing that ties it together is that it focuses on high quality photography and art direction. I'm not signing up to promote kscans but technically I could because the only thing that would tie in the asshole speculums and watersports is that the photos of the depravity are nicely done.

Am I being too general or confused? I'm thinking of using this 'general' blog as kind of a hub. Or is it better to just build gazillions of throwaway micro niche blogs? On the other hand now I'm thinking that my 'general' blog isn't so general as its mostly tying in glam art and s&m. Damn, what is wrong with me?

anyway, the more specific your target audience the more relevant your searches will be.

What do you mean by glam? I see where you are going with your niche and i must say that's a hell of a spectrum to be trying to hit efficiently. You are crossing in on my niches and I must say it's huge... you just don't know the structure yet.

you are going to get a lot of strings but i doubt your traffic will be targeted considering all the topics you are going to hit.

I think you'd be better making your post personal and trowing odd references in to grab strings. Like making a post about a big tits sponsor and referencing getting your clothes done at the laundry mat.

I used suicide girls as the name for your punky alt tattooed girls as an euphemism but you get my drift. Although I'm not really into tatoos or piercings so I'm not really crossing over into your territory.

But yeah, it's going be to pretty wide. I suppose using it as hub for more niche specific blogs might work though?

I don't fully get what big tits has to do with doing laundry though.

I do intend to make it personal, as you said, but in terms of my own tastes in porn they're pretty varied as long as it is what I feel is done well. I guess that's where the 'personal' aspect comes in. But I still need to figure this out more. I mean, people have more than one favorite "niche" don't they? Which may mean nothing for my SERP.

you aren't looking for people with multiple niches. you want to make people with multiple fetishes clue in on your page. The more you target the content the more targeted the surfers are going to be. I have found that targeted traffic is worth it's weight in gold compared to the bullshit traffic i can generate.

Hmm... You are right of course. But just let me think this through as I write this post. I like stuff that is for lack of a better word, 'erotic'. Bangbros is great but you can't call it erotic. Most of the hardcore stuff is out to arouse through being shocking rather than sensuous. I know that's very subjective but hence related to what you're saying about making it personal. I'm not into bdsm in practice but the look of it is interesting and appealing in an abstract kind of way. I appreciate fully waxed and made up girls from Hegre as much as I like seeing raunchy unshaved amateurs. I'm not obsessed by stockings and prefer to see people fully naked but if it's shot well I think it's great.

Anyway this stuff is easy, I have to look into the more niche specific traffic like you said. That's harder I think.

are you the only person that has these interest? I certainly hope not, otherwise you will not sell a damn thing. You are selling someone elses site so you want your appeal to be that you know your porn and this is the best you've found.

I think mixing niches is OK if they relate somehow and won't alienate your surfer.

For example, running a blog as a hub with nylon, stocking, feet, and leg fetishes would work. However, a blog with feet, shemale, gagging, and latex would probably not be a good fit.

Yeah. That's a more diificult mix. Though I'm sure there are people out there who are into both stockings and gagging. Kscans guys might actually be an example.

I'm just going to to try and go with this one as more of a personal thing from my love of photography and see where it goes while I build other more niche specific things. Since I have yet to see gagging done 'tastefully' that one probably won't make the cut for this blog. Living and learning, you know.

Reading over the replies, I think maybe these niches may mix okay after all as the focus would be for lack of a better word 'erotic photography' but that's not exclusively glam russian girls and may have things a bit our of the ordinary.
