tips for newbies from a newbie

Yes, yes I am a newbie, I have only been in the biz for 3 months, about an average 2 to 3 hours a day. My site is www.dirtykittens.com I dont make a lot of money off of it but I do get about 200 every two weeks and believe me for the work i put into it I cant ask for anything more..

Yes I will be building more blogs, yes I will be building "feeder sites" sooner or later, yes I will "seo" my site in the near future but thats for later..this is for you new newbies... If anybody else have any tips please post.

Oh and remember I only make about 400 dollars a month with ONE site, so take my advice for what its worth....


1. sitemap for google, google is not all that but get a sitemap, its easy.

2. do something you like (something that makes you want to look at your site everyday)

3. be brave, get off the message boards, post that ugly ass tgp you got, it will fail but eventually you will get it right.

4. be friendly to people, you need link trades

5. traffic is king...every problem you have now can be solved with more traffic. anyway you can get porn surfers to your site, search the web, you can do it.

6. its not "free" buy chameleon or trafficseeker or don't. but buy something that will help your site, even if its just dreamweaver....it WILL pay for itself shortly.

7. don't quit your day job...unless you WILL SPEND 8 TO 12 HOURS A DAY on your porn empire...

lol, chump change i know. My sponsers generally pay every 2 weeks. As you can tell by my site it is bare bones, i am definetly not complaining...its paying my car note.

Now, let me give you some advice.
Allways put a index file in every folder you have, so that someone don't see that you're "only" site actually is a gallery HUB.

Handwritten, original text allways works best on blogs. You are far from alone to just copy text from the sponsors tours.... why not just use rss feeds instead?

Oh, I wasn't kidding you about the money, for a newbie that's great, I just thought it sounded funny to say $200 every two weeks instead of $100 a week.

Better than taking the time to put an index file in every directory is to just get your hosting company to protect all of your directories.

Thats really impressive. I've been working around 3 or 4 hours a day for more than 6 months now, I have over 10 blogs, 10 other sites, and I still only make $100 a week or so.

How much traffic are you getting to make that sort of money off of 1 blog?

YOU JUST NEED TRAFFIC!!!

All of that "optimize seo" "make google happy" is good advice but the number one thing you need is TRAFFIC!!

Traffic is not easy we know that..but you should be doing everything possible to get traffic to your site!!

THAT INCLUDES SPENDING MONEY!!!

A good start:

trafficseeker.com:it helps, not a lot, but it helps

chameleon:at least 2 tgps made and subitted EVERYDAY, 7 days a week

make a freesite, and ubmit to linklists 1 EVERYDAY!!

update your blogs AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS...AND MORE EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK!!!

In the beginning you made it sound like you only have 1 website and you're making $100 a week from your blog. Now you say to submit 2 galleries a day as well as freesites. That means you do not have only 1 website, you have lots of them and making $100 a week submitting 2 galleries and 1 freesites a day is no big deal.

He asked what you're doing to get traffic to your blog and you replied with what you're doing to get traffic to galleries and freesites, neither of which are a good way to get traffic to a blog. You might want to use an outbound link on a freesite to send some traffic to your blog, but I wouldn't recommend it on the galleries.

Personally, I think some of your advice is wrong. TGPs are a dying breed and building 2 galleries a day every day to make $100 a week makes no sense to me. You should spend the time building niche blogs instead.

Now that you brought up spending money, I'm forced to ask if you are actually making $100 profit every week after your expenses?

you are right about tgps...

blogs are the future I think. sorry for the misconception, i am very ignorant in all this stuff still!! but yeah I do submit tgps and make websites, but the future is my www.dirtykittens.com domain, just got to optimize it someday!!

Regardless I do still think that tgps and free websites are perfect to get your feet wet, if only to build a hard work ethic

As Hammer said, to make $100/week from a gallery/freesite HUB is no big deal, and if you by saying "spend money" allso have expences on top of that it is actually a lousy result after 3 months of submitting.

However, i doubt that you are submitting 2 galleries a day, 7 days a week.
15 galleries just don't sum up 3 months of submitting.

To give advice is ok, but to give advice from experience is even better, so get youre feet wet in youre own advices before you tell anyone else to do it.

I don't think TGPs are a dying breed but maybe they had a stroke and are still alive ;-) If you are submitting two galleries a day you should expect to make a couple of sales a day by now. Either your galleries, submit list or sponsors suck...

That's not true at all. I converted at 1:24,000 with my last gallery...LOL!

Either way though, I know some people do make money via the hun.

Personally, I just can't do the TGP submit thing. I've found a few in my niches that actually do OK but I just can't make galleries day after day.

I have had much better luck with free sites and submitting to linklist than simple gallery submissions, then again I haven't wasted too much time on the single gallery approach for just that reason. I usually build a nice free site then take the single galleries and submit them to a few places. Some get picked up and some don't. It's just a small bonus for the same amount of work, and the linklist traffic has been converting for me.

The only smart way to do TGP galleries is to find some Filipino designers that will build them for $5. If you're really lucky you'll find some that will submit them for you too.

So that I don't have to answer the next inevitable question, don't ask.
