How much to show on blog?

I have a couple of blowjob blogs and they are not converting particularly well. My policy is to show not only no blowjob pics but also just a non-nude pic of the girl. The pics link to the free hosted galleries with all the blowjob action.

Is this why my conversion rates are so low? My click thru ratio is very low too. Phuckbunny mentioned something about this in another thread, if you start showing hardcore on the blog page are you giving too much away for free? I would imagine you would at least get a higher click thru rate to your sponsor page.

2257 is not an issue for me (err...I think) as I'm not American. It seems nearly every adult blog that I come across shows hardcore pics without any warning page, Certainly all the blowjob blogs. I guess people are taking one look at my blogs and thinking 'how boring'.

your click throughs should be comparable weather you show hardcore images or just a cute face. Showing hardcore images is going to give the surfer exactly what they want, free porn. If 2257 isn't an issue then why not try starting another blog with just hardcore images. Then compare your click ratio's.

Maybe your poor ratio is due to another aspect of your blog, like design or overused content?

Softcore vs hardcore is not the issue here imho - if you are marketing a blowjob site then there had better be some blowjobs on your site otherwise it is not a blowjob site.

Try to align your content with your category without giving away the family jewels and see what that does for click thru rate. Btw what is your ctr?

Niches that focus on a particular sex act are tougher to promote when you can't show a glimpse of the act itself.

You can still do it though, just use good teaser thumbs and work on your cropping skills to really capture something sexy in the photo and use good titles.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Well I'm going to make a few posts featuring actual blowjob pics and see if there is any difference in the click thru.

I think Jim is right, if someone goes to a blowjob blog, they want to see blowjobs right there right now!

It might be a problem with the design too as I'm not using wordpress but just my dodgy html and php skills.

I agree with mynameisjim. Creative cropping is the way to go.

I'm a total noob, but maybe try cropping some blowjob pics so just the woman's head is showing? Maybe from the side? I think any guy would be able to tell what the rest of the picture was about, or at least want to click and find out!

Whenever possible, I try to use a pic from the same set that shows things just about to get started - girl and guy dressed on bed, or her just starting to unzip his pants, etc... Of course if using sponsor content you are stuck with what they have available, but you can often find a teaser shot or two to use.

BTW Hammer - you are to blame for my hubby serving ramen for dinner all week and encouraging me to slurp it all up.

With all due respect to everyone here, i think this is going a bit to far. I know many webmasters give to much away and all...but your not giving any away at all. Blowjobs, unless it's been some differnt way that i've never been told about, is in the hardcore grouping. If your advertising it like softcore porn....well, i doubt it would be very effective.

Here is my view on this, and feel free to disagree with it. Also fair warning as its rather crude.

When i'm selling a subscription with a gallery or a set of pictures or a movie, i want to include enough to make me hard. My job is to give them blue balls. If i'm selling blowjobs, i would include model pictures, pictures leading up to the blow job and finally 2-3 of the actual blow job itself. If it's one picture, then right as she is going down on him but before its in her mouth. If its a video i've always stoped a few seconds after the model made contact. I've always looked at my job as to be that asshole that walks in on you in the middle of sex. To make it so that your hard but its impossible to finish. That way they have no choice but to buy.
