Gallery sets - random or ordered?

When you guys gets new picture sets, how do you go about choosing your pics for your galleries?

I know for some tgp gallery makers, you just provide a zip file and they'll randomly choosing pics and display them out of order.

I was just wondering if people manually mark off which pictures in their picture sets have been used or not. Or do you just dump all the pics in one place and let your software randomly choose them?

The reason why I'm asking is that with randomization you don't have to do any backtracking or management of what you used and didn't use, which can help to automate the process and save time.

Or is their some danger in not going through the pics in order?

i've seen submission rules that require gallery pics to be in order. I can't remember where though.

I build all my galleries by hand so i don't have any experience with any automated tools.

I hate it when I come across content in a gallery or website that is out of order. It's upsetting to be looking at a pic or two of this chick getting naked, starting to do stuff, and then BOOM, she's dressed again!

In order when at all possible is my suggestion, even for galleries.

I forgot to mention. I don't think there's anything wrong with picking out the best photos, or leaving out a few that don't look as nice. It just matters that the ones you do pick are displayed in order.

I don't think he's suggesting that he would take them out of order to the point of starting to undress, being naked and then suddently undressing again.

I'm pretty sure he's asking if he needs to use the photos in the set as they are ordered and the answer is no.

If there are 150 photos in the set, the first thing to do is to weed out the explicit photos, because you don't want to use those if you live in the U.S.

Next thing to do is to pick a sequence (the word we're looking for, not ordered) of 15 pics or so that follow a logical progression. If that means using pics 4,5,6,9,14,23,25,32,36,43,44, etc. then there's nothing wrong with that. If using pics 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, etc. leaves you with a slow boring 15 pic progression from clothes on to shirt off, it would make for a very poor gallery.

The other part of your question is a good point and yes, I would recommend keeping track of which photos you use. You can go back and reuse them again a few months later, but you don't want to submit galleries with similar photos too close together.

Heh, yeah, it's silly... but I have indeed seen it on various paysites.. it's ridiculous!
