What is a good ratio?

Hi, I finaly got a bit of traffic on my site, not much but in the past few days I'm making a bit of money with one of my sponsor in perticular! Since I'm new in the biz I have nothing to compaire with, and was wondering what is consider a good conversion ratio?
With that sponsor I got a ratio of 1:18. Is that consider good?

i doubt you have had enough traffic to even make a good comparison. you need at least 5k-10k uniques before you can really judge your conversion.

Supermario, with a conversion ratio of 1:18 none of us would be on this board. We'd all be retired and living in fill-in-tropical-paradise-of-choice. But as Balls said, you need to wait and see how well this sponsor continues to convert and can't judge it on one conversion. I'm assuming you're dealing with a fairly specific niche.

how many unique hits came to your site?

how many memberships did you sell?

if you got 2000 hits and sold 1 membership then your conversion ratio is 1:2000 not 1:18

if you actually had a 1:18 conversion ratio you would have sold 111 memberships. If you sold 111 memberships we need to talk.

the 1:18 number you are probably referencing is your conversion ratio once you send a targeted surfer to your sponsor.

another important question to consider - what kind of sites are you promoting?

ie: 1:18 would be a bit better than average if you were promoting the WEGCash Join4Free sites, but if you were promoting our Free Trial sites then that figure would be exceptional.

Ok, BD, first is not membership that I sell but rev. share for web cam, the ratio on that site is 1:18. I did not make a lot of money ( it's still good considering) but 25% of $26,00 is not a lot, but the volume was good. the 2k was send on my site (www.boysjerkinglive.com) but half of the traffic end up on the site with 1:18. It's funny, no one has answerd my question which was, what is the normal ratio. ( I think i just got lucky wiht it this time, I don't expect to be like that all the time, But I did something right oubviously? I think.

did you make more than it cost for your traffic? If so then you did good.

I'm not sure what the expected take is on webcams. Regardless if you can buy traffic for less than you bring in you have a successful site.

here's a quick conversion scale but don't go by it, it really depends on where your traffic comes from.

TGP 1:5000-1:10000
Blogs 1:300-1:5000
Paysites 1:100-1:500

now remember that your conversion ratio is based on the number of hits your website gets compared to how many things you sold.

does your sponsor tell you how many accounts it took to make that $26.00? For instance if you sent 2k hits to your site and one person signed up for a webcam and stayed there long enough to make $26.00 then your conversion ratio is actually 1:2000 If it took 5 meberships to make that 26 bucks then your ratio is 1:400

if you only sent your sponsor 18 unique hits but sold one membership then your sponsor would show a 1:18 conversion ratio. But remember you may send that same sponsor another 300 hits and not get a single sale, so your next sale may show a 1:318 ratio rather than 1:18.

don't get too caught up in your sponsors conversion stats untill you get a good amount of sales under your belt. you want to focus on the overal conversion ratio of your website.

I'm assuming you know what the conversion ratio is based on? but in case you don't.

Thanks DB, I'm not sure how many account it took, I definatly made more than I spend. From what i understand from the stats is , that when the same suffer go back the next day (or whenever) and spend more time in chat, it is count again. I can see that many suffer went 2 or 3 time in the chat. so?
Anyway, thanks for answering my question. I think I just got the beginners luck with this one. Now if only I knew what I did right I could replicate it, LOL.

I measure my ratios based upon uniques to the sponsor tour so that I can compare apples to apples. Some sponsors base your ratio on 2nd page hits, join page hits or qualified hits (usually english language hits to the join page)...which I think is BS just to make their ratios look better. On TGP traffic my better sites do 1:400 and the worst ones I keep are around 1:1200 (but they rebill well or do something else I like).

Let me try to refine my question.
How many hits did you send to the sponsor that you got 1:18 ratio at and how many sign up's did you see? (rev share is just a different payment option, but still based on sign up's).

1:18 ratio is extremely good ratio, and if you are smart you will continue to buy as much traffic as possible if it converts so well for you. One way or another i just don't think you're ROI is as good as you say

Not true...that would be a 1:200 ratio.
A 1:18 ratio is when she invite you home and you find out she have 20 horny friends there looks even better than herself

Viking, my traffic went down, (when i bought it I split it to different url to see what will work, but yesterday i got this to the sponsor that convert good ( 27 raw hits, 11 unique, 2 sales, ratio 1:6. I'm trying to figure why it convert well, since I don't even send the traffic directly to the sponsor, but to my site. the other traffic, I send it directly to sponsor (with my url code) and nothing happen? One thing for sure, the next traffic I buy will be send to my site!

Well, if you're stats really are 1:18 my best advice for you is to sell youre house, youre car and everything else you can translate into money. Buy a dedi server, put up youre site and buy all the traffic you can get youre hands on.

LOL, that's funny Viking . From what I understand I don't really expect that it will stay like that! It's probably just a freekish random luck. But one thing for sure I'll be buying more traffic, you never know.
