Why would you want a return? It's like giving the government an interest free loan. Well actually, most people like getting a big return because they can't save the money themselves. Fact being, you will yield a greater return if you put that money in an investment account rather then having the IRS save it for you.

Well said. We always try to owe the government. It really works out better if you invest and have the money to pay at the end of the year. Like you said, it's a matter of me controlling my money or the government controlling it for you....
