I need a little legal advice. If anyone might be able to give some insight I'd appreciate it.

Let's say "hypothetically" that I had some content that was perfectly legal here in the US with all the necessary 2257 documentation, etc. but it was filmed illegally abroad. How does this affect me with regards to US law?

what do you mean by illegally shot? what kind of content are you referencing?

I mean illegally filmed material, ie; no necessary permits, permissions, or flat out constitutionally illegal in the area the content was filmed.

For example: if I filmed some porn videos in Thailand (where it's supposedly illegal to do so), and then brought them to the US.

You've lost me. By no necessary permits or permissions I am led to believe you do not have release statements from the models. This is still illegal even if you can prove they are old enough to be porn stars.

As long as it's legal in the U.S. (i.e., not rape), and you have the necessary 2257 docs, it wouldn't matter what country you produced it in. Of course, if it's illegal so shoot in Thailand, you obviously run the risk of being arrested if you get caught shooting it in Thailand.

It's always best to get legal advice from an attorney, but sometimes it just takes a little common sense.

Once it's in the can and your models are of legal age and there's nothing illegal, I don't imagine you have anything to worry about - unless you're Jay Francis

This is what I thought as well, but I wasnt sure if someone could run a check on the 2257 docs and find out that certain models were filmed illegally and try to use it against me.

I have no intentions of going to Thailand. I was only using it as an example.
